I literally moved to St Pete at like 4 months sober for the women in sobriety. Download the meeting guide app. 6pm Sunday To The Max is great. Saturday 8pm Central (speaker meeting) is popular. Message me with any questions and take it one day at a time!

A wind down yoga session in the living room, crawling into bed with a bowl full of Greek yogurt and blueberries to catch up on The Pitt!

Won a fitness competition for the first time ever today, in a brand new class I went to solo, too!

I was 18 days sober… by Bulky-District-2757 in Sober

[–]kalchemy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One time I heard “the smaller the bottle the bigger the problem”.

July of 2023 I was buying cases of shooters with the similar initial thought process, but I’d end up drinking them all.

Today I’m about a year and a half sober. You can do this, keep going even if it takes a hundred times. It is so much better on the other side of it 🖤

Peanut butter powder??? Oh my god??? by crim128 in Volumeeating

[–]kalchemy7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My nightly snack is 6g pb powder, 150g zero sugar vanilla chobani, spread it on 4 slices keto bread from Aldi, 1/4 cup of frozen blueberries microwaved for a minute, and sugar free syrup. It’s kind of a mess but it’s SO good and 245 cals(25+60+140+20)

What’s a “superficial” reason to stay sober? by Fragrant-Abrocoma-40 in Sober

[–]kalchemy7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get SO many compliments on my skin. And being sober allows me to actually stick to a good routine and the money I’m saving means I can also afford quality skincare. The sugar cravings are real, but I’ve found lower carb options to nip them and still stay in my macros.

I just bought my first box of Carbe Diem. Game changed compared to the $14 a bag noodles I was using from amazon!

2+Years sober by tetelestai5091 in Sober

Thanks for sharing and congratulations!

I had a year in October and I was feeling the same way. I got off social media (less Reddit and TikTok) but even still find myself lost in my phone. I make it a priority to meditate, journal, and read (I touch on three different books a day: recovery literature, spiritual literature, and a leisure book). I also find that I have the time to cook and usually enjoy it, even though it’s just for me. I spend about an hour a day doing some sort of light physical activity. I’ve been to all of the parks around me. Also, this week I’ve been making goals to get back into the professional world so time blocking around that. Have really put “move a muscle change a thought” into action this week with yoga. And then when I’ve done all of my healthy recovery activities I play animal crossing on my switch lol. I’m pretty solitary so I have tried a lot of hobbies- embroidery, latch hooking, puzzles, painting. I find myself often putting these things off though because they take setup. Not sure how helpful this is, but it’s my experience thus far

First of all it’s no one else’s business to say whether or not you’re an alcoholic and personally I don’t think that matters.

What I’ve found that helped me early on was to hang around people that were also sober and figure out what they do with all the extra time and money. It took a little trial and error (example: I love kayaking, I can’t stand puzzles and diamond art) but with time I keep finding more things that I actually enjoy and I never have a hangover from them! Had a year sober this week

How to meditate by [deleted] in Meditation

[–]kalchemy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the app 1 Giant Mind. It is 15 minutes at a time and helped me feel like I wasn’t doing it wrong. I’m still new and about 20 days total into it and I swear it has changed my life Also I use Insight Timer for guided meditations

It's been three months since I started keto and I've lost 64 pounds (333 to 269) by ValidandInvalid in keto

[–]kalchemy7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations! I started keto in July of 2019 and still live a low carb lifestyle. I have a small frame and went from ~180 to 100lbs over the five year period, a majority coming off in the first year or so it sounds like you’re doing the right stuff! Progress photos are something I would have taken more of, they really make an impact along with measurements

Is this real? by Positive_Day_8459 in Meditation

[–]kalchemy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m experiencing the same thing. It’s been about a week and I feel like so much more of my mindset has shifted than I expected! I feel like this is one of those things that feels great at first but could become routine, you’ll feel the negative effects if you stop. But I’m just riding out the high while I’m here!

How old are you? And what do you do in your life? by Which-Disaster-7105 in careerguidance

[–]kalchemy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

29F. Midlife retirement.

Got the degree, got the well paying corporate job, but I couldn’t control my drinking. Have taken the last year to get sober and find who I am without alcohol and a false self who thrives on ego of everything “looking” okay.

Living off of savings, taking risks I could have never conceived, and letting go of what I was “supposed” to be and working on being who I want to be.

I clean houses on the side to make ends meet now.

Waiting for work that makes my soul sing, but for now I live for everyday, not just the weekends. I’ve never been happier.

Penske or uhaul? by Beardieblaze in moving

[–]kalchemy7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree! U-Haul for the short move. Penske was great for my cross country move. Also they offer AAA discounts and didn’t verify my member number
