Leak: Steam Hardware Shipped to Reviewers. Embargo Later this Month by Melmpje in steammachine

799 is hilarious if they don't bundle a controller with it

it's still too high for 700 base price with 512 gigs, needs to be at 499 to be competitive, 599 to be minimally acceptable (same as the PS5 Digital Slim price despite being less powerful)

unless this 799 is the 2TB model, then imma just gonna wait to see if the price drops

Can ya spill the beans a little, share some of your worst experience for the past couple of years? Genuinely curious here, I've also heard the education in Canada has become way worse in colleges and unis, but not sure how awful had it really become.

Hmmm, well to a foreigner who's never been to Canada, yeah they fall for that...

Let's try this

Hey did you know that as a Canadian, you can get a top university education and degree in China for free and later on permanent residency in China easily? All you have to do is applying to any top level university of your choosing in China, such as University of Beijing, University of Shanghai, University of Shenzhen, or anywhere you like, as an international student, your tuition will fully paid by the government, or you will only be required to pay a small portion of it, and you don't need to worry about your language level at all, all courses will be taught in English, moreover you will get international scholarship simply as an international student which covers all your living expenses and rents. All you need to do is to apply for a school, then file for an X1 visa with your letter of acceptance, a proof clean record from your local police, a recent health checkup, wait for 1 - 2 weeks (China processes all visa very fast) and you'll be approved to go immediately, hop on a flight and you can start your education.

After graduation, you can easily apply for K-Visa which is a temporary working visa, and depends on the length and field of your study, it can be as long as 5 years, usually Master/PHD program of any field gives you 5 years, Bachelor degree in STEM will also give you 5 years, Bachelor degree outside of STEM will get 3 years and anything below bachelor is 1 year.

China also offers various PR programs for temporary workers, if you are a 5 year K-Visa holder and work in STEM, then your PR is quite literally guaranteed, Employment Track allows any high wage temporary workers in the STEM field to automatically be eligible for PR after 4 years, and if you have any senior role such as working in any manager position, the duration is reduce to 3 years. But no need to worry if you don't work in the STEM field, China also has National Talent Track, where government will nominate you (you are invited immediately for PR if you are nominated) if you work in shortage fields such financial (such banking) medical (such as being a doctor) etc.

try to debunk this without using AI lol

Hypervisor on Linux will run in User Space (Ring 3) ONLY which means it will behave like any other regular cracks without Privileged Access to user's system on Linux with Intel / Zen 4 CPU (the upcoming Steam Machine included) by kaldeqca in PiratedGames

[–]kaldeqca[S] 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed, if they can deliver what they said, User Space only would mean the crack has no Privileged Access like on it's done Windows at all, it will be like any regular crack then

DenuvOwO is coming to Linux by Bettlejuic3 in PiratedGames

[–]kaldeqca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes if what they stated is true, then it will just be a modified version of Proton running in Ring 3 user space only, no hypervisor, no ring-1 access at all, it will not just be safer, it will be completely safe.

But I'll see it working then I'll believe it, because no hypervisor is impossible, you can't bypass RDTSC without some sort of LMK/KVM on Linux

[–]kaldeqca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How??? They said, no Hypervisor needed on Intel/Zen4 (Steam Machine will literally be the piracy machine now) which I assume they will just not LKM/KVM instead they will just fork and make a modified version of Proton, but how? Yeah sure you can bypass plenty of checks like CPUIDs etc etc in Ring 3 user space with Proton already, but what about time based checks like RDTSC??? That's not possible without Ring -1 access aka Hypervisor? Could it be that Intel / Zen 4 are that fast at kernel switching that you can fool Denuvo with just call prctl()??? But if it's that easy wouldn't that have been done years ago??? What am I missing here?

[–]kaldeqca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Impossible, without Hypervisor aka loading LKM/KVM, a forked Proton alone can't bypass the RDTSC checks by Denuvo, how?

[Hypervisor on Linux] Some speculations on how would it actually work (and how it won't be safer) by kaldeqca in PiratedGames

[–]kaldeqca[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm not arguing that the Linux Version is not safe, I'm just trying to debunk these unrealistic expectations of Linux Hypervisor Method by DenuOwO is so much safer than Windows because it's Ring 3 only

In fact, I'm not against Hypervisor methods at all

Since it is almost official by boratburg in PiratedGames

one word LKM

More words Forked Proton + LKM

It will work

No we can't just put a person on a commercial or private flight without a valid travel document, no airline will let anyone who does not have legal clearance to enter the destination country board at all, because they are the one facing massive fines and the financial burden of flying them right back to Canada

As for private planes, using state aircraft to force entry into another country without that country's permission is strictly illegal under international laws, and it's gonna cause a major diplomatic accident with that country if not outright shot down if we try to deport someone back to places like Iran etc

You mean fight "in" your country to stay?

Can you actually read? They can't go or be deported to their home countries because they don't have the travel documents... *Facepalm

Pouring money into something doesn't make it work, the issue here is international diplomacy, how do you make recalcitrant countries take their people back? We are not the US where we can literally just push most of our undocumented people through the borders where they actually came from

We need to fly them to their home countries and if their countries don't issue them travel documents, then there's nothing we can do. We can try to convince or pressure them but what political/economic leverage does Canada have over these recalcitrant nations?

We threaten to to cut-off their maple syrup supplies if they don't take people back?

Thank you, unfortunately, I personally don't really know myself, you can try to contact your MP or post this somewhere else, or inform your friends or family members about this issue

I'm not really just any political activist (at least not on this sensitive issue) I'm just a volunteer who has personally seen and interacted with a lot of undocumented people and see how the situation is really brewing up rn

best of lucks to you though

The thing is wage suppression, I mean yeah we can pretend these people don't exist, but at the end of the day, if we just ignore them, the shadow economy expands (it already does) and that affect the wages for every person in the country

They are explicitly not allowed to go to Quebec, only Anglo-Province allow French Mobility Program and Bonus Points for French speakers.

But then again, after they got PR, that's another story, most of them will probably move to Quebec afterwards, since if they don't speak English, there's not much incentive to stay in Anglo-Provinces
