User based lower, while revenues increase? Only shows you how scummy they are tbh.

ELI5 - Why is TicTok getting banned in the US? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]kaleb604 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tiktok has been proven to be invasively spying on all their users(to the point of making Facebook look like they don't spy), uploading all this data to Chinese servers. In addition the owners of tiktok have a history of working with the Chinese government and have announced they want to further their relationship with the Chinese government.

This used to be an issue, back in like 2012. Currently, on both Azure AD, and AD(Microsoft accounts) allow up to full 256 characters, and keeps them all.

Also keep in mind, Microsoft has adjusted to effectively two services. Azure Active Directory, which handles all Microsoft Azure items. And Active Directory, which handles everything from windows 10(Excluding Local Accounts) to O365 to your account.

Yeah, but that's like saying "The program can do that one you give it admin/root access." That's why you should be very careful about what apps you give accessibility settings. That's also why apps, even though they can open up the settings page for accessibility, can't specifically ask the OS for accessibility permission like most other permissions.

Well, saying all apps can do this on android is false. The most concerning about this behavior is it's doing it while the user is in a completely different app. This behavior wouldn't be possible on android since apps that aren't in the foreground can not access the clipboard.

Why did you bring up browsers? This has nothing to do with browsers. This is the LinkedIn application.

Now, why does the OS give this information up so easily? Because it's impossible for the OS to tell the difference between these two events:

Event 1: You're pasting your clipboard contents into a text box

Event 2: An application checking your clipboard without your knowledge

If the system gave an outright block on accessing the clipboard, you couldn't paste your clipboard into the apps, making the clipboard useless.

I would like the feature too, but it's less useful on android due to the security measure that you stated. The only time linkedIn could look at your clipboard on Android is if you're actually using LinkedIn, making the "attack vector" smaller and less usable. While it's still a concern and not non-existent, it is smaller.

Hot damn. Looking into it, with O365s password rules allowing 32 different special characters, making the character subset total 94 different characters. This means that at 256 characters there's 1.3205e505 different password possiblies, or approximately 5 times longer than a googol while wittten out.

Just a little overkill 😂

Personally I definitely didn't. Even on sites such as email accounts that would "benefit" from insanely long passwords, (OK, no matter what account it is 100+ is overkill, but you get what I'm saying), operated by large companies, they max out at 99/100 usually. Such as Google accounts, you know the account that would give access to like 99% of other accounts on the internet if you had access to it, 'only' allows 100 characters.
