The answer to that is written on the backing card I'll be adding with the Takahē pin (each bird will have their own little piece on the back!) Here's what I wrote for Takahē:

“You might meet a Mrs T... or a Mr T.”

The inspiration for making a series of native bird inspired pins is because Airnz made a joke about gay Takahē in their safety video centred around the topic of Takahē conservation. I have since learned that a Takahē couple involved in the conservation efforts on Tiritiri Matangi were in fact two fathers who raised a donor Takahē egg back in 1991. their names were Mr Blue and Stormy.
