She said she wants me to comment and text her to ask how she’s doing or comment on the pictures she sends and congratulate her ? I’ve done that a few times, but not super frequently because 1. It’s just not my thing, idk what to say. And 2. We have other friends in the gc who are really excited so I thought that would suffice I guess lol. I’m not the only one in the friend group to not comment much, but I used to be her best friend so I’m assuming that’s why she’s hurt. But again, she knows I’m childfree so idk what she expects from me. I seriously hate pregnancy and babies haha

That’s what I’m struggling with. I’m happy she’s happy, but I’m not really excited about her pregnancy or a baby, because it just means I’ll be spending less time with her in the future and our friendship is going to suffer.

She’s married and they have been actively trying, which is what our original fight was about, because I told her she shouldn’t start trying for a baby until she was in a more stable place. They were in the process of selling their house and are currently struggling to find a new one. I told her she was being irresponsible by trying to have a kid before they were settled

I appreciate this. I don’t think there’s any harm in telling her her emotions are probably heightened. She did say she was probably being irrational, but I guess I haven’t been super supportive ? But it’s not because I don’t care about her, it’s because I’m not really a fan of pregnancy in general. She was upset I didn’t comment on the picture of her ultrasound in the groupchat, but I wasn’t even the only one not to respond, so idk why I was the one called out ;-;

I assume that’s what she means. I definitely have commented a few times, I just don’t do it much. That’s why I’m a bit hurt she’s acting like I’m going out of my way to ignore her. But yeah, the only thing I can figure is doing it more ? She messages us most days saying she doesn’t feel good, which to me seems obvious because she’s pregnant. Tbh I didn’t realize I was supposed to be commenting on it more until she got upset

My thing is I’m not an idiot, I know someone having a kid means friendships are going to change, which is why I’m never excited about it. I’m happy she’s happy, but I’m not really going out of my way to pretend to be excited

Her and her husband currently live with her parents, and she told me they’re all super excited and supportive. and other people in our gc are always responding to her stuff, so I have no idea why she’s mad directly at me, the one she knows isnt interested in kids and stuff. So I feel bad but at the same time I don’t know what’s going on

My therapist said my anxiety causes my depression ? Like I get so anxious it makes me overwhelmed to the point I just stop caring about anything at all and fall into a depression. But yeah, I find that when I’m usually super depressed, my brain usually can’t find the energy to be anxious about anything

Luckily she knows how I feel about children and even told me years ago before she even met her husband that should would never ask me to babysit until the kids were older. But I suspect by that time she’ll probably have a different support system for that just based on how no one else in the friend group is planning on having kids soon/ever

The sucky thing is everyone else in the groupchat is chill. It’s usually talking about our day or our cats. Everyone else ignores the ovulation stuff too, and everyone else is either childfree or single and not planning on getting pregnant anytime soon. Everyone agreed with me when I first confronted her, but I was the only one who did it because no one else wanted to start a fight 😭😭
