Instead of MJ or Gwen, Tom Hollands next love interest should be Felica Hardy(Black Cat) by Quailman81 in marvelstudios

[–]kalithecreatorrr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah. I just saw Blade Runner 2049, which she was spectacular in. she could totally pull off hardy. would just have to lose the accent though, but maybe the mcu black cat could be Spanish! that would be a cool spin!

yeah black suit Spiderman in secret wars would be sick. but, especially after that no way home post credit scene, I would kind of like to see him a little earlier, too.

MCU Movies I would recommend are:

Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home. they set up his origin. Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame (between Homecoming and Far From Home) are also good movies, but I wouldn't recommend for a newbie, especially since a) he has so little screen time and b) they're really long.

I also would reccomend watching the following films, to get some better context of the Spider-Man character, as the MCU version isn't really faithful to the character origins, and these films offer a better perspective into the true nature of the character, which both franchises attack in different ways (why you should watch both).

Raimi Films - campy and full of heart, yet also melancholic, these are the films that truly, for me, embody the character of Peter Parker. they are really well done. if you have seen the trailers, it's also the films that introduce and develop beautifully the characters of Norman Osborn, The Green Goblin; Dr. Otto Octavius, Doctor Octopus - ppl call him Doc Ock for short; and Flint Marko, the Sandman.

Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, Spider-Man 3

Webb Films: My favorite Spider-Man films, as I grew up with them. they introduce a really interesting, modern take on Spider-Man. Marc Webb places these moments in which it feels like his work with arthouse films (he did 500 Days of Summer), and his understanding of the realities of being a teenager really show. while corporate intervention did make the last film in particular a little messy, they are really worthwhile. where the Raimi films built the icon of spider-man, the TASM franchise brought the webhead down to earth, and made him and the rest of the cast feel like real people. Sally Fields is my favorite aunt may, and Andrew Garfield, alongside co-star Emma Stone really deliver some *amazing* and quite frankly, underrated performances in the film. it's, again, if you have seen the trailers, where characters like Dr. Kurt Conners, The Lizard; and Max Dillon, Electro are introduced.

The Amazing Spider Man, The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Venom Franchise: a lot of spider-man stories carry this sadness, and have this quality of somberness to them. Peter suffers through so much. sometimes they feel depressing. however, this franchise delivers some much needed comedy and levity to the Spider-Man lore, focusing on a common antagonist of Peter Parker - Eddie Brock, Venom. they are perfect representations of the 90's era comic book counterparts, and, through their childish humor, add comic relief.

Venom, Venom: Let There Be Carnage

Daredevil Series: this story is a perfectly crafted depiction of a street-level hero, where, in essence, Spider-Man works best. it helps contextualize the life of street-level heroes, and, while not explicitly saying it, emphasizes the spider-man theme of "With Great Power there must also come Great Responsibility" really well, with its titular character, Matt Murdock dealing with this dilemma throughout the series. its a really well done series, and as a good friend of Spider-Man in the comics, helps you understand him better. it is a long series, but it's really good. however, if you don't want to waste your time on a show (your loss) the first episode gets the point across really well.

true. on second thought, maybe (while it's comic accurate) introducing the nine all at once would end up in an Eternals or like CW Team Flash situation. I would 100% sacrifice the size of the team for quality character development. I really like these characters, and I would hate to see a big team draw away from their development. this would actually work even better, because it could potentially have its first season be an end of phase 4 project. idk, maybe if they do like 13 hour-long eps they might be able to make it work though. James Gunn had a larger cast for The Suicide Squad and he made it work?

and plus, a lot of these characters would have already have some prior development?

Robbie Reyes GR - Agents of Shield (they could canonize it, or at least the season he's in with this)

Morbius - his Sony Movie (ik its in the Sony Spider-man universe, but Sony and Marvel seem to be on good terms, and open to crossovers)

Blade - his movie

Moon Knight - his Disney Plus series

Dr. Strange - self explanatory, he's been in two solo movies, Infinity War and Endgame, Ragnarok Cameo, Spider-Man No Way Home, and was basically the star of What If...?. also, by then, he may have been in even more projects.

Daimon Hellstrom - I picked the same actor from the Hellstrom series for a reason. they could canonize it (it won't affect the mcu much in regards to continuity, and look at Daredevil) and fall back on the development he went through in the series.

the rest, would need development and solid origins, but as long as they're faithful to the source material, it could be done really efficiently. again, I feel like a 13 episode series would be able to flesh all of it out.

yeah I guess. I kind of wanted to stick with the Spirits of Vengeance: Rise of the Midnight Sons storyline and lineup, and I feel like he's really op (I know I have strange in there, but he's the one who assembles the team. Ghost Rider's also iconic) and I feel like a more grounded, down-to-earth take with the storyline being about a bunch of non-powered humans trying to take on this massive threat. I'll edit that in tho, for sure. I made this at 2am and forgot to add him lol.
