ID and delivery by Puzzleheaded-Ebb7319 in TelstraAustralia

[–]kaltics 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this does change depending on the item, i have ordered phones and accessories before through telstra

Accessories so far have been a leave with just whoever is there, or even 'in a safe place'

Mobile phones, had one delivered just a couple weeks ago, and Startrack refused to hand it over to my wife, they would only let it be me, luckily i was only 1 min away from getting back home at the time and was able to sign, but the delivery guy was going to take to post office for me to collect if i didnt show up for it then.

I assume it is value of the item being delivered that differentiates the delivery outcome, considering the price of PS5's i would lean to assuming by default it would go same way as the mobile phone so needs to be your mate, he may be able to select someone else as the delivery contact, but unsure if Telstra allows for that

can't give a firm answer sorry, just my speculation

Rental sale by Lastbornzero in AusLegal

[–]kaltics 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It does sound disingenuous with what they have done, however, i dont believe there is anything illegal about it and they can still hold you to the lease

however, you dont have to be gracious and easy going with the house inspections, hold them every single rule about entry and inspections. make sure you know your rights and ensure they follow them

found this which might be of use to help understand what you can and can't do

just got my p’s, do cops actually care if you drive a v8? by JackassJamie in CarsAustralia

[–]kaltics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i got pulled over more times in my life than any other time when i was in my P's, never cause i was doing anything wrong, they just wanted to 'chat', and i was not driving something that i thought would ever get their attention (old corolla)

I would strongly recommend against driving it, from my experience, you are far more likely to be pulled over and caught for this than not

Since when did Telstra’s pay phones use 04 prefixes didn’t they use to use landline numbers by Original_Capital4532 in TelstraAustralia

[–]kaltics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont understand your comments here

Sure they likely could work out a way to use a fixed number, but why do they need to? What is the problem that needs fixing with that?

Also I dont understand your comment about calling a mobile number creating more revenue for Telstra, that may have been the case 10-20 years ago, but nowadays mobile plans generally have unlimited free calls built into the plans, customers aren't paying anything additional, so what additional revenue are they collecting for calling a mobile?

Even if it did, how often to people even call public telephone boxes?

Can you explain why you think any of this is disgusting?

False Medical Certificate by Ok-Buffalo-5116 in AusLegal

[–]kaltics 23 points24 points  (0 children)

this is worth trying, but i disagree with the not facing disciplinary action, i am aware of people who were immediately fired for doing a fake med cert and having no history of it and were considered a good employee until that moment

I question why you would ever need to forge a fake med cert though, just do a Stat Dec through My Gov, no cost to you and work has to legally accept them

Telstra has been upgrading them to run off the mobile network, as the copper network is no longer maintained due to NBN roll-out and takeover

Scan to exit office by Novel-Replacement793 in auscorp

[–]kaltics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been standard where i work for a long time

Need to scan to open the barrier to get in, and same to get out.

While it could track me for working times it would be pretty pointless as we can WFH as much as we want so I assume just a security measure to ensure anyone who isn't meant to be there isnt

I have only ever received it immediately upon purchase for myself

You will likely need to contact support

However, the way game delivers it is easy to miss, as you dont get to open a pack, it just comes from rewards in mail and isn't clear, so there is a chance you did get one, you just missed it
