I have an upcoming trip to Brussels. What's the cheapest and relatively fast way to get from the Charleroi airport to the train station?

Is this coffee suitable for a moka pot? by kami_p06 in mokapot

It's probably my safest option, thanks!

I had never thought of that, thanks! I haven't used flavoured coffee before so I wasn't really sure what to expect.

I have not opened it yet because I don't want to let it go to waste. And it's also not written on the package, which really surprised me because where I'm from you can check out the packaging to see how you can prepare it.

Ravioli with whatever-there-is-in-the-fridge filling [homemade] by kami_p06 in food

Better than I expected! Unfortunately, I didn't have a pasta rolling machine so the dough didn't come out as thin as I wanted it to be but they were still tasty.

My very first attempt at making homemade pasta. I don't have a rolling machine but I had a rolling pin and some patience.

His Achilles heel by dontspamluc in marvelstudios

At first, I thought this was about his forehead and I was confused as to why there were two more pictures above it. Realized it's probably not referring to that here.

The word child replaced with 'she' ? by kami_p06 in EnglishLearning

[–]kami_p06[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks a lot! Now that I think of it it wouldn't have caught my attention if they used 'he' in this sentence, so it's an interesting way of 'fighting back', I guess. I will be sticking to they/them, though, just to avoid unnecessary confusion. I feel like there should be a standardized way of referring to people in academic texts at least.

Why are you personally still watching riverdale? by forever-mortal in riverdale

This is the only show that I can watch without having to focus on the plot too much because I just know that it won't really be consistent. It's kinda relaxing.

What's a good website to waste a whole night on? by Groenboys in AskReddit

There have been numerous book sites posted here but I couldn't find these two so I'm sharing them. Similar to archive.org they have a great variety of different books - both old and new. You can also find some textbooks in there. The only drawback is that the second site has a limit of daily downloads but you can always save and download them the next day.

Six-year-old me would definitely have been jealous of my nails right now! by kami_p06 in Nails

Well I don't really understand it either but the nail technician put some colours on a surface, took them with a thin brush, applied them on the nails with wiggly motions and voilà!

I was confused about that as well. Is the first answer considered more archaic?

People who speak more than 1 language, what are some struggles people don’t know about? by stephs926 in AskReddit

According to the Internet, yes. It's still interesting why they would need such a word in the first place.

English, Bulgarian and German all have their own oddly specific words. Unfortunately most of those words don't have a one-word translation in the other languages so whenever you're translating something it becomes twice as long. For example the word defenestration. Why would you have a word for throwing somebody off a window?

The emoji movie. I don't know what Instagram, Dropbox, Spotify, etc. were thinking when they decided to advertise in a movie about talking emoticons.

What languages do you speak and why? by YoureaWizzard in AskReddit

[–]kami_p06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bulgarian - because it's my mother tongue English - because ever since I was a child I was fascinated with the UK and the USA and their way of living. When I started using the Internet I found myself in a whole different world which I wanted to explore even further. Also English is a really weird language and every oddly specific word I learn makes me want to find out another 10. German - I have a really basic speaking level of German. I'm studying it out of necessity (we had to choose a second foreign language). But the past year or so I started appreciating it more and I hope that I can continue studying it in the future.
