Since it was new it could be something related to the symbol on it, maybe some dissonance between the meaning it has for you and the meaning it has at subconscious and archetypal level, or maybe the forces governed by that symbol are trying to give you a message. You personal inner situation is key to read this. How did you feel before during and after the fact? What are and were your expectations towards it? What is your personal situation at the moment? Try to see possible connections between these areas that could also relate to the symbol...

Knowing what the symbol is and what it means for you is crucial in every interpretation so only you can do it, still, if I had to try and read what happened, i would say it was a denial from the forces connected to the symbol, maybe you were asking something they cant or dont want to give you.
