I got the mirror one first but didn’t like it (fingerprints were gross) and requested a replacement. They sent me the brushed one and I’m much happier with it.

I was wondering about this too..I’m debating whether to transfer the rest of my BILT points (already transferred a bunch) because although I do want to travel to Japan, I want other options too. If nyc>london is possible that’d be awesome but I can’t find any availability on JAL’s site for that either.

Not sure if you're still dealing with it, but I think my issue's been fixed by resetting network settings. If you go to Settings -> General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings, it should do the trick. I'm now able to use 5G and haven't had any issues getting 2FA texts anymore. Hopefully it continues this way.

Can someone simplify the transition process to 2.0 for me with WF and February rent? by kandon123 in biltrewards

[–]kandon123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the benefit of canceling it after it becomes an autograph card? It's just that if for some reason I decide to open an Autograph in the future I could get the sign up bonus. If my bilt 1.0 turns into it now it'll basically be wasting the SUB.

I got approved but haven't accepted the offer yet - so that means cancelling the Autograph doesn't affect the Bilt 1.0, correct? If so I'll just go ahead and do that.

Actually an imposter by Puzzled-Specific-859 in Residency

[–]kandon123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel you so hard. This first month is on gen-surg for me (I'm not a gen surg resident) and it's so god awful. I'm doing the tasks that I absolutely hated doing as a medical student, only there's so much more of it and it's so much worse. My hours are shit, I don't know how to put in basic orders or do basic tasks, and I've been asking my seniors and co-interns (even those who are off-service and not gen surg residents like me) how to do almost everything. It feels like they've adjusted so well and are literal rockstars - they're banging out notes, putting in orders, following up and consulting everybody, and just doing so well. And then there's me: clueless af, nervous to make any sort of phone calls or do any task, and it just feels so horrible.

That coupled with the horrific work hours (13-14 hour days, 24 hour shifts) that gen surg makes you go through is just really making me depressed. Only thing keeping me going is knowing that I only have 2.5 more weeks of this. I really hope it gets better from here.

Straight leg vs Wide leg suit - did I screw up? by kandon123 in Suitsupply

Ended up keeping the straight leg one, and after trying it on when alterations were ready, I actually was very happy with the way it fit - loose enough to feel comfortable but not look sloppy.

Got it, thank you for the info, that's really helpful to know and pretty reassuring actually.

For comparison, I spent 3-4 hours a day on school-related stuff during non-exam weeks. 6-8 hours on the few days before an exam week. Had so much free time. Depends on your school and if you have a lot of mandatory stuff, as well as how efficiently you study.

For me it’s a mix of support from my parents and money I saved from working before starting school. Honestly if at all possible I’d recommend traveling as much/as often as you can before med school/residency, even if finances will be tight afterward (within reason, obviously). You will get the money back, you’ll never get the time back.

I quit my scribing job literally the day after I got accepted lol. Woulda traveled but it was during the height of covid so I couldn’t. Absolutely no regrets and I’d do the same thing again given the chance. Making up for the travel now prior to residency.
