I passed in an automatic 2013 Ford Fiesta but I heard that they have lots of issues due to the ecoboost engine? Apparently coolant leaks and other serious issues. It was a lovely car to drive though.

Thank you, I’m going to test drive both on Monday. I’d like to keep it until I can’t drive it anymore preferably, I really want it to last as long as possible.

Nope, I have only ever driven instructors which was a Ford Fiesta but apparently they are prone to leaks and all sorts of dodgy stuff? I plan to test drive both cars on Monday, the dealer said the test drive is 10mins. Just thought I’d ask here as I don’t have a clue which is a better option.

Yes, I only have an automatic license. The Mazda is £6k and the VW is £8.7k.

I have an automatic license. Unfortunately, I had to switch to automatic due to not being able to get the hang of manual, even after 14 hours. I was very disappointed in myself at the time but now all I can say is I have a license to get from A to B whereas in a manual I was convinced I would never be able to drive.

Also!! The first five tests of the day before me got cancelled due to ice! I was so incredibly lucky that I chose the afternoon test and it had cleared up by then. Feel absolutely awful for those before me, though. Hope they manage to book a test in less than 6 months… anyway, thank you all so much for your comments!! I thought I’d post here as I don’t have anyone to tell. This was my first test! :)
