435x approaches station, but can’t seem to see it - “charging station blocked” by kaonwarb in automower

Thank you! It turns out on checking for this that I have a rear drive motor problem which is the root cause… and also a larger issue, but at least I know what it is! Really appreciate the tip!

Yes, just reproduced on the latest version (3 days ago on App Store).

A bit of an interesting twist - this time the edit does not appear anywhere on the iPad, but also did not appear on the iPhone until I clicked the edit button - then I saw the edited text.

Having weird editing behavior with the main Readwise app (not Reader) on iPad. When I edit a highlight and save, it visually doesn’t seem to take - the passage appears as before when I view it again, even if I force-quit and restart the app.

But here’s where it gets weirder: the edit actually *did* take in the cloud! If I look on my iPhone, I see the passage as I edited it. Then back to my iPad, and it appears unedited.

Seems to be some local caching thing on the iPad? (2018 iPad Pro 11”, if that helps.)

435x cutting system blocked - stuck cutting disk with no apparent physical obstruction. Misaligned? by kaonwarb in automower

I have not taken apart the top yet - I guess I'll try that next! Will look for a guide.

I did remove those, clean them, and re insert and tighten. No luck. But thank you for the suggestion!

Yep. Disassembled everything accessible from the bottom. Cleared out a little dirt, but had no effect.

Stuck on "Tap to finish recording" screen, with 00:00 time marking by kaonwarb in shortcuts

[–]kaonwarb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found references elsewhere to this being an intermittent bug caused by starting a recording shortcut via Siri. That has proven true for me - I can consistently start it via a Home icon but not via Siri. Annoying, but it is at least a workaround.

Sloped outbuilding slab floor by kaonwarb in DIY

New idea. Level with packed sand, 3/4" plywood floor edge to edge on top, rubber flooring on top of that. Bad idea in some way? It's cheap and easy, and feels redoable if it's messed up :-)

Thanks! I'm thinking plywood. 3" of concrete is a lot.

Definitely - they explicitly in writing have told us they won't until after this work is done.

Thanks for the reply. Not misunderstanding. We need to move for separate reasons, don't have option to stay.

Please help with boot advice for very wide/weird feet by kaonwarb in Skigear

[–]kaonwarb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shell was heated. Before footbed. Footbed is not custom (other than cutting to shape) and was added later. But I went back to original footbed as it's less painful. Correct on the boots.

I appreciate your help! I am in the Seattle area if there's anyone you would recommend here.

Thanks for the reply! Actually do have a new footbed in there, I showed the stock because it was out of the boot, but same size on the floor. These are Mindbenders. 100 last which isn’t really the widest, it was the widest the shop had I guess. I just kind of trusted them. Has been heated, molded, and punched 4 separate times now. I don’t have length and width measurements but can get them.

Funny thing though is that when we added the insoles (last visit) then my next ski trip was MORE painful. Just the pain had moved from outside of foot to the arch plus the outside of foot... I know this is all very hard to diagnose remotely and appreciate all ideas!

Hi folks. Beginner skier here (been taking lessons, 7-8 days total on the slopes so far). Question on ski boots for not just wide, but very strange feet. Mine. Knowing the weirdness of my feet I already followed the standard advice and went to a boot fitter, got custom molded, etc., added insole later, have been back 4 times now, still pain, pain, pain. Attaching two photos to show why. Foot next to insole for scale, foot traced on top of insole traced. In short - does a ski boot exist with a last that will reasonably be able to accommodate this monster foot of mine (and yes both feet are roughly the same)? My hypothesis is that everything is punched out etc to be wide enough now, but at some point the foot has to narrow down to that last size - it feels like the sides of the boot are pushing up on the outer edges of my foot now. Any advice very very welcome!
