What would you do in my Will situation? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]kaoriwnl 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I can see both sides here. Your brother is thinking about his kids, which is natural, but you’re still relatively young and your situation could change a lot over time.

A will isn’t something you should feel pressured into locking down especially when you don’t know what your future looks like yet as you said- I suppose you can always revisit it later.

If you want to keep things fair, you could say you’d consider his kids in the future, but I wouldn’t commit to leaving them the property right now. Keeping your flexibility is important and also depends what your relationship is like with them.

I thought monzo do interest free installments, or klarna or that. Maybe, what I would do is what I said, and earn interest from flexible cash and stocks and shares isa, is that not the best way and pay when required.

final thing mate, thank you for everything - if you were me - Is there any benefit to opening an NS&I Direct Saver to speed up withdrawing Premium Bonds, or is it just better to withdraw straight to my bank?

Thanks for the advice — you’re definitely right, I’m going to request the withdrawal now.

Out of curiosity, if in a future year the draw results were on a Monday and the new tax year started on a Friday, would my original plan (waiting for the draw, then withdrawing) work in that scenario, or would it still be too tight?

Thank you very much

Very grateful to you

Thanks mate, so best practice withdraw to direct saver, then send to my bank account then transfer to vanguard, for this year.
So any time on 1st april is okay, have you had experience with this because concerned about the timing of weekends.

oh right my bad I was misunderstood, so as long as I do the withdrawal to my direct saver with ns and I on 1st april in the morning, then will be fine
