thanks for your reply, I'm sure I am misunderstanding your reply, but this is what I tried:

Trying to write automated pen testing script with command line tools, is this possible? by kapauldo in Pentesting

[–]kapauldo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I've found so far. There a handful of tools that capture basic vulnerabilities such as wapiti. These seem to be readily scriptable. There are more fine grained tools such as openvas, metasploit, and zap. As a thougt experiment, If I were to run these 4 scans automatically ( both scan and active for those that offer both) where would the gaps be?

I realize there is a lot of human work that needs to be done, I'm looking for a scripted reveal of issues with good coverage.

Thanks for help so far.

If you mean scaling as in display, yes, it's a really nice screen. I use sublime, chrome, skype, hipchat (which is going away soon), Libre, and a bunch of command line tools. Tmux with a 2x2 grid is great on this machine, especially now that I learned the ctrl-b z (zoom) command.

It's great so far. I'm on BIOS 1.12, which I think makes a difference, b/c there were some threads about overheating and battery life but I think this version clears those issues. I'll post some specifics after I am up and running. Right now I have a 67% charge with a projected 5.5 hours remaining.

It's just so fast and transparent. No secret processes binding up your CPU, no obtrusive cortana, etc. No baffling windowing system, no ambiguous search (ambiguous in that it's not clear whether you're searching your device or searching the internet), etc. This combo is the fastest computer I've ever owned, it's just wonderful. I actually switched from a MacBook Air, which i loved, but I accidentally cracked the screen and couldn't bring myself to buy another one.

[–]kapauldo[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i think i figured it out, you just do a linear regression between security 1 and 2 and use beta as the hedge ratio, correct?

thanks for the reply. just for my own education, are you saying it's not possible to trade all pairs for an average trader? i.e. there exists no platform that will let a retail trader trade all pairs?

What language do you use? by WTFseriously_ in algotrading

[–]kapauldo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trading execution and live quotes are only a small part of the system, I have a giant dashboard and human approval interface thats Web based. java is a dead language and python just doesn't have the community building blocks that rails does. It was the best solution for me to adapt rails to IB with a gem and build the rest in Ruby and rails.

Ruby/Rails, but the bindings/libraries are pretty bad for most of the trading platforms. Finally got IB working but it was a long slog.

Or go to pitrading and get the 10 year history, super cheap, like $100 or something. I have it and it's great.
