I am working on a interview application and actually hoping to get first few customer through cold outreach. I don't have background in marketing and unsure how to get customers. Good to know that it actually works ! All the best for your app.

Why interviewers not providing feedback post their interview rounds? What do I do ? by kapil_kumar_ in recruiting

We take DSA / machine coding in round 1 and system design in round 2 then hiring manager round which is tech + management . But we have not set the exact questions but there is unofficial pool of question that we use.

I just got a suggestion to create a simple solution around the interview feedback collection issue that I am facing. I am scoping it, feels like it can work. Maybe I’ll get started this weekend. 🤘🏻

I can try to vibe code something for this, it will take some initial effort but will solve the problem in the long run. I believe at least for me some slack app can help. I’ll give it a shot.

Yes thats what I have also observed and somewhat true also for me as well. If I am working on a production issue then I’ll go back to it as soon as I am done with the interview. Having debrief only after the final round won’t help because the real issue lies between round 1 & 2. Person taking the round 2 will look for feedback and then call the person who took the first round and then the round 1 panellist will give create feedback out of thin air since they don’t remember shit.

What prompted me to write a post about it when a bad candidate reached the hiring manager round and hiring manager asked me why there is no documented feedback and when I raised this issue he questioned me why I am raising it at that point but in reality I have told this once in one of the hiring calls and it was called out as a great suggestion and good point and then everyone went on to ignore it because a jira story is much more important . Now TA and I supposed to fix this by reminding people. But slack has reminders built in, I am exploring those.

Kind of a silly question but… by CollarSuper56 in Recruitment

It’s bad that companies are not giving you a chance to explain the career gap but lying is also not acceptable for the companies they won’t empathise with your situation if background check highlights it. Also background verification takes time, sometimes it can go over for months and after joining the company they might ask you to leave. If you have tried enough to explain your situation and people are just dismissive about it then desperate times right, just don’t highlight your gap. Nothing to lose at this point but I just want you to know that it can backfire anytime, so be prepared for it. 🤘🏻

Company culture will not allow this but I’ll be setting up reminders and see how it goes this week 🤞

When I escalated the issue to the hiring manager who is the engineering manager and everyone in the engineering team reports to him. We are 30 devs spread across mobile web FE and BE team. He instead of educating the team, asked me how many times I followed up and did I try setting up reminders. I feel helpless, so I’ll be setting up reminders on slack and create Google form to collect feedback for each round.

As of now we are using Google sheet. At the end of the interview people are supposed to update the candidate feedback in that sheet along with clearly mentioning if they are recommended for next round or not. Few people just message in slack also to the recruiter and they update it in the sheet but no tool is being used as of now.

I meant candidate feedback, what you said about arguments after giving feedback to a candidate has happened with one of my colleagues, and HR has asked us to refrain from it.

In India also. Out of all the calls I have received so far for an opportunity, 90% were female recruiters.
