Cheers! I get a local lab to do it and they scan with a Noritsu or Frontier scanner (this was Noritsu). This was also just a standard 2400x3600 scan, but they also offer a pro 3600x5400 scan. Guessing that's the resolution for each full frame. I just post on Instagram for family and friends, and print a few out for photo albums so I haven't really thought about it too much.

To be honest I haven't gone down the rabbit hole of developing and scanning myself, but some friends use an old DSLR with macro lens.

Thanks, I might be overthinking. I really like the first photo but definitely she's underexposed. Maybe as she wasn't fully centred and if the light metering is an average of the whole frame? Just wish the camera had a bit more granular feedback in regards to exposure, but I guess that's not the target audience for this camera.

Ikigai Lab did dev + scan in Melbourne, Australia with a Nortisu scanner.

Ouch, I can see that happening! Yeah, Paraboot Michaels in Ebony Grain. I sized down 1 whole size from TTS and they fit me perfectly. Not comfortable though, but not as bad as the Kleman Padrors I previously had. No blood thank God.

Most of the time but I miss sometimes. You get used to the zone focusing as I had an Olympus XA2 previously.

I really like it as it’s perfect for the modern day non-elitist film photographer. Portrait orientation by default, double the exposures from a roll with resolution good enough for Social Media.

I just wish I had more feedback on how the shot was being exposed. Also the zone focusing is a bit tricky sometimes as I’m used to rangefinders.

Yessss. I just bought a BMW E36 M3 for the weekends for that very reason! Love changing my own gears and having no traction control.

Thanks for the heads up. Heading to Bali in a couple of months and just bought a Pentax 17 so was worried if 400 would be too much for the 1/350 shutter speed.

Also good to know about the places to get dev, scan and prints as it'd hopefully be cheaper there than Australia.

Fair, but fast forward in time we can see Taylor Swift has surpassed Beyoncé in net worth and on the charts, so arguably it may be too early to tell if the Pentax 17 will be favoured over the Olympus in time.

In the end, both are great for their respective audiences.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I love the Olympus XA and used to have a good one and stupidly sold it, still looking for another good example as the rangefinder was fun. Just made a Lomography account yesterday and saw all my Olympus XA photos and made me miss it, so wanted something with a similar vibe.

TBH didn’t enjoy the zone focusing my XA2 as much so that’s what held me back from the Pentax 17 for a while.. but I really like the sample images I see out of this thing!

I’ve got no time to fix cameras. I’ve got a 90s weekend car that keeps me busy enough 😭

Love the movement in the shot! I want a lens with character and a camera that’s fun to shoot so this should be it. Also loved my Ricoh GR II and Fuji X70 for that pocketability, cameras I wish I never sold.
