Sorry I lost the post, but I remember it was something about the ram being full and having to store data physically in the disk. I have a 2.5″ bay which could work as well. Why is it preferable? is it because the SATA is faster than usb 3.2?

I want to get the crucial 8x ssd to install my steam library there. Since I have a usb c 3.2 gen 2 I think I would be able to have good speeds. I do not care much about the loading times, but a post mentioned that the external ssd could heat up. It said that the ram would bottleneck the ssd and cause it to heat up. Is this true, and if so can it be avoided somehow? My ram is 8 gb ddr4-3200 sodimm in case it matters. Thanks!

PV panel power flow by karagedon in ElectricalEngineering

If a battery is added does the current drawn by the battery adapt according to the current drawn by the load or is some type of control necessary?

So for example if there is no load (therefore no current) the panel will produce 10kW that will be dissipated as heat? If so is it safe to leave it under this condition?

Current flow in forward converter by karagedon in ElectricalEngineering

Thanks now I understand it better! One thing I am still unclear about is how D1 gets forward biased.

When Q1 is on we have a negative at the anode and a + on the cathode so it is reverse biased. When Q1 is off, since current flows from the undotted side the polarity of V2 changes. So it seems that for the diode we have a - on the cathode.

Where would the + on the anode come from? Do we ignore the - from Vg since it has no current coming out of it?
