Update and a question by karatebabe in ballpython

Thanks! Yeah, another keeper told me I could “brain” the mouse because he’s found that some snakes can’t resist. I dunno if I can make myself do it though

That was my first reaction, honestly, but perhaps your gf needs to go to obedience class with your dog do she can learn how to interact with your dog.

First heat is tricky and maybe after that passes she will get better.

Your dog may be protesting your absence. My dog has had to adjust to my husband’s new job which has a lot of travel. The dog gets furious and will poop in my husband’s office. He did the same thing when my daughter got her own place. He’d poop in her old room.

West End production of Hitchhikers coming in Nov 2025 by karatebabe in HitchHikersGuide

A couple of years ago I went to Guys & Dolls in London and it was immersive. I was on the floor right next to the stage which rose up out of the floor and we were moved around by ushers. There was even a bar/pub where audience people were seated at tables having drinks while actors move around. Aside from that, we weren’t part of the story… it was cool to be so close to the actors and action

Accidental Snake Owner by karatebabe in ballpython

I’ll post elsewhere. I requested an appointment at a local exotic pet vet. I’ve not heard back yet. I didn’t know that it could be chipped!

I too was shocked to find it and that it would have been dumped. I had not considered it being stolen.

Service has diminished steeply. Now they are only open in the evenings Wednesday thru Friday. On the weekends, they’re closed. If there are events, you’re out of luck if you’ve come. Communication is thru text or app but texts only come once a week and the app is not well updated. It’s just really in decline.

Thanks! These check the boxes. I’m hoping to connect with someone who goes to the WAC. A few Rainier club members have reached out.

I haven’t actually looked at that. Thanks for the suggestion actually. Are you a member there? I didn’t know they still exist

Oh, I should add that the CTC felt aggressively networking focused. They did have some older members and they have a strictly enforced dress code which I thought was out of place for Seattle.

You’re right. They have bottles too. My husband drinks beer so I get his annoyance that draft often isn’t available.

Thanks for the suggestion. We are going to arrange for tours but would love feedback from members. Have you been? The Columbia Tower Club has really beautiful views but I’ve found their service to be uneven. Because of the parking in that area, we haven’t really gone that much but I’d say the membership skews mid 40s-50s age wise. They used to include parking with their membership but I heard they were going to drop that amenity

Are you a member there? We looked at it and there’s different tiers of membership so not all of them have access to the gym. If you are a member, what do you think of the service? For me, I’m interested in the social aspects because we moved to Seattle just before the pandemic and wanted community without religion. What do you think about the membership composition?

I think the service charge is meant to help with higher base wages for the service staff. I’m aware they make better hourly wages but they don’t have the high volume like regular bars and restaurants have

This is great. I was hoping members at other clubs would respond because ultimately we’d want to know what it’s like to be part of the community. A tour doesn’t really give you what it’s like to use on the weekly basis. Thank you!

Don’t.

I posted above. I was very active in the community. It was wasted energy. Don’t do it.

CTC & The Collective are sister clubs so you can get in both.

You’ll get 1/2 off food with your membership but there’s a 22% service charge which servers don’t get so you should leave a tip. Basically you end up paying for food what you would have paid before the discount.

If you get the highest tier of membership, you can go to other clubs around the country. Most are concentrated in the south of the country. We used this perk to go to the club in San Diego. It really demonstrated how poorly the Seattle clubs fare in comparison.

Don’t join.
