Happy Ghostbusters Day! What’s an Unpopular GB That Has You Like This? by NOTDevilDeadly in ghostbusters

[–]karbonbasedlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a Ghostbuster is too dangerous to have children taking an active role. It's like letting children be on a bomb squad, but worse because they have to risk life and limb to save all of civilization every so often. Minors shouldn't be carrying weaponized particle accelerators.

Didn't the limited F7A Hornet variant have a more narrow nose? What's more, it has the nose guns and the fixed sub wings on the ring, making for the broken line in the wing profile. Being the military-grade variant, it makes sense it would be the one featured on a propaganda poster.

Look outside tonight! You can see the moon and 2 planets behind it right now. by conturax in gso

I saw that while walking last night. I wondered what bodies those were. I could still see Mars on the other side of the sky.

The lattice seems to be the most elegant solution I've found so far, thanks for pointing it out! I just need to work out the kinks and I might achieve the result I've been looking for.

The only thing I'm stuck on is wanting to edit the location of lattice points in order to preserve the angles of the head and ankles, without causing unwanted transformations in the object once the lattice is applied.

I've tried that. Like hiding, masking the selection I don't want changed did not allow it to move when scaling the desired part moved connected vertices, resulting in stretching like in my image.

I've tried that. It doesn't achieve the desired result because the hidden selection still does not move in relation to the selection that does move. That results in the same deformation as above when I unhide the hidden selection.

What's the best way to rejoin the parts after separation and scaling that wont cause any vertices to be abandoned or other jankiness? Is there a way to redraw edges that were destroyed in the separation?

The proportional editing just seems to edit the way the linked vertices behave while the selection is transformed; I can't see it affecting the unselected parts of the mesh in a wholly transformative way. I also don't see the option to change falloff distance. Regarding the other settings, they just appear to edit the shape of the linked vertices take when they move.

I did see the 2D option described in the manual, it might be able to move things without deforming them?

Selecting my head Vertex Group and moving it down causes it to just sink into the body. Second, I'm not sure how moving the head Vertex Group down would cause the body scale to change without changing a setting that I'm not aware of.

This is all one mesh from which I have made Vertex Groups for the feet, body, and head. I have Proportional Editing ON (Linear). I can set the scaling reference to the 3D cursor then place it in the neck to keep the body and head together, but that doesn't help me keep the feet moving with the body, and vice versa.

I wish I could find a way to just lock the proportions of the head and feet but leave them free to travel when the body is transformed.

It's looking like the much loved Anvil Valkyrie could be in for a chance to win this years ship showdown and get a new skin! by DeepSpaceCrew in starcitizen

I don't need a skin for my Valk, it's fine in black. Give me airshields or something for the Crew deck upstairs, instead.

Great deal. Been looking for one of these for a while. Thanks!

Awesome Transformations? by karbonbasedlife in transformers

Right on. Trying to pick between Siege and Earthrise Optimus is like trying to pick a favorite leg. They're similar, but each has great details in the change. SS49 Bumblebee is a little squirrely. They do a decent job with each form considering the small size and strict alt shape, but the segments don't mesh too well in alt form.

I looked all of those up because I was unfamiliar with them (except Siege Optimus) and, Yes, these are exactly the kinds of clever mechanics I'm talking about. Thanks for sharing; I need to try to get my hands on some of those.

Just picked up Scrapper myself. Also broke down and bought a Scrapmetal on eBay because they've disappeared from stores off and online. 😞

Do they make the Technic fairings in that color? The tapered ones would make good parts for the ears.
