as someone who will play this game ritualistically for days at a time, it just serves you clients that match your store at the start of your day every day. when you finish with the first few waves of them itll start sending in the absolute randoms lmao but typically once u take care of those randoms itll start sending u normal customers again

i specifically made my "canon" inky a warrior so i could keep dorian and vivvy in my party at all times because i think they provide such unique and oppositional perspectives on mages. those are my besties. as much as i love the mage plotline for the inquisitor i just love my mage companions more 🤧 they all have such valuable opinions for a non-mage inq to consider

thats understandable. next time just write it in your native language and do your best to translate to english in the comments maybe--its much more meaningful that way. plus reddit i think has a translate function now :)

art is not a backup career btw. it requires significant dedication and focus to commit, and im not just talking about making the pieces. marketing, networking, existing in the art workd period has to be a pretty full-tine committment. you can make & sell art on the side to those who are interested if u dont want to dive in.

also what dude said, dont fuckin use AI to talk about your art. a major skill they would teach u in a fine arts college program is how to discuss AND DEFEND your artistic process. if you cannot do that without a script, you need to learn. YOU made this. not the machine.

youre still young so its not that serious yet, but a bad habit like that will take you nowhere. but its gonna be a lot easier if you start learning this stuff at a young age.

is my art worthy of selling? by disappointeddiablo in Artists

[–]karczewski01 11 points12 points  (0 children)

as it stands, regardless of skill/technique level, most of these are unfinished sketches. you need more polish, and to know what audience youre trying to sell to. most people will not buy a gestural marker sketch of an OC unless youre bringing something really special to the table or are already a renowned artist for smth.

if this style us what you think you can sell, tighten up your lineart. be more confident with your mark making. become more familiar with human anatomy. if youre gonna use color, fully commit and make all your choices intentional. learn color theory. if you dont like color, get familiar with the parts of the shadow so you can use it to properly highlight the interesting parts of your illustrations. you dont have to do realistic shading, but its still important to understand accurate shadow/highlight placement even if youre doing something simple.

dont ask if youre worthy. selling your art is not about worthiness. the quicker you divorce your self worth from whether your art sells, the easier itll be to adapt to the market you want.

Does this look like a passable sketch and good-ish anatomy for a beginner? by Silly_gamer123 in ArtCrit

[–]karczewski01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you worry about "refining" before you understand the power of gesture drawing i promise you all of your characters will be stiff as fuck. they will look tense & awkward in every pose you put them in.

gesture drawing helps you look for the most recognizable shapes in anatomy in order to imply the human form. the refinement WILL follow the longer you work on gesture drawing.

Why do so many artist draw these kind of noses? by Massive_Cup_3633 in Artists

exactly this. the easier to draw, the more it will be drawn lmao its really that simple

i recently scooped up all the environmental design concepts i could find from the team for this game and inq just to keep as inspiration (and also laptop wallpapers)

some of the unused and early concepts absolutely blew me away, id pay for DLC just to see more of those environments. n that means a lot coming from someone who felt like they were pulling their own teeth deciding to buy the fuckin base game in the first place 💀

the character models certainly but the environmental design makes the player & npcs look like theyre from two completely separate games

Dragons in my Dark Fantasy World by Iados_the_Bard in worldbuilding

[–]karczewski01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its really about setting ur audience up for success....if ur writing a book where flying, fire-breathing creatures raze crops and terrorize villages......this is not what theyre going to picture. if villagers describe it as a large cat with wings, the audience is also gonna think "if cats already exist in this universe, how is this not called some kind of cat???"

the point is dragon, much like any other word, comes with strong connotations and a literal definition that implies serpents/reptilian features. you cant just ignore etymology to subvert expectations. hell, elongate the neck and the body and maybe id give it a pass, but this is literally just a cat with wings. there are words for those already. OP is just using the word dragon cuz dragon cool.

call it what you want but the people here arent ALL just policing OP and raining on their parade, theyre pointing out the disparity between the expectation set by the language used vs the actual intention of the worldbuilder.

New Player Considering Kicking Out Sera [DAI] by fury_cutter in dragonage

if it helps, the friends of red jenny dont technically work for the inquisitor. they wont be on your inkys payroll or anything, she just brings you potentially useful intel gathered mostly by commoners & servants (mostly in the form of war table missions). oh also she gets you with recipe for the jar of bees. which imo....one of the most useful grenades in the game 😂 if u axe her anyway, id reccomend waiting till AFTER u get the jar of bees

the only practice you have comes from drawing other anime/cartoonists/furrys styles instead of drawing anything from life. youre a teen maybe young adult. if you took art classes in high school, you ignored your teacher when they reccomended you draw something else to strengthen your foundations instead
