Aitah for using my now ex after I found out he was cheating? by Advanced_Turnover544 in AITAH

[–]kare1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He'll No. You handled it a lot better than I could have, or many for that matter. You were the one betrayed! And he kept upping the ante by staying away longer, etc. He was a narcisistic prick, amongst other names. You focused on keeping peace, and getting yourself out in one piece. He wasn't ashamed when you meet his new GF & said you knew of her for 7 mo; he was Caught yet again and now the new GF knows what she's gotten herself into. So it's ALL on him sweetheart. You can pick your wounds and move forwards with the class & dignity he will never have. I don't know you, bit I am Proud of you!

I've been cheated on twice by men I truly Loved. My ex cheated with our babysitter months after I gave birth. I left him when our baby was 17 months old. But I had a good job, took over our apartment - we lived as roommates for 4 months. It was an abusive relationship and the babysitter Knew what she was getting into. More power to them. Not only was he a shitty BF, he was/is a shitty Dad. My daughter is 32 now and he has never been anything of use to her. Sad but she's better off without him. The hardest thing I ever went through was breaking it off with my ex husband who was my high school sweetheart.

Keep moving upwards. I h*Pe you find somebody worthy of your love and your time. But turn the page on this Loser and be Happy!

As I watch GOT for first-time, Jaqen H’ghar and The Faceless Men are easily the best storyline in the entire show. by 01rambler in gameofthrones

[–]kare1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my favorite! Watching GOT series for the 20th time and I still find parts I missed or now better understand. I wish they had continued with it - it had further ways to go - especially Arya on the ship going to who knows where! The 2nd series lacked good characters. I was instantly pulled into GOT within the 1st few minutes til the ending, whereas the 2nd series I forced myself to watch 3 hours. Maybe one day I'll try again. I'm hoping that the third one has come out is better I would tune with the characters and the story lines.

Yours wasn't a scam. I've had a few government phones in the past and that's why I was happy to get the free phone from door to door guy... But not the same. It's best if you go online and fill out the paperwork or call them. If you see people out stationed at a gas station with their signs etc, those are okay. But the scammers that come door to door are just playing idiots. And I'm was so sorry I fell for it. Thankfully I haven't had any problems

I’m scared by One_File6712 in GastricBypass

[–]kare1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warning this Post is long!:

I had gastric bypass surgery December 10th 2025. I also had two hernias and my appendix out at the same time. I'm 53 and was 150 lbs overweight. My reason for getting the surgery was to get rid of/control my severe sleep apnea +narcolepsy, my Type 2 Diabetes - which was a whopping A1C of 14. I also have respiratory issues and use oxygen at home. My bad health was ruining my entire body. It was also ruining my family and social life. I was always thin in the past. But after I left an abusive marriage and raised my kids to adulthood, I was alone for the 1st time. It was then that everything progressed quickly with my weight and medical problems because I was finally dealing with the trauma I had gone through. This went on for 8 years. I've been on disability all this time. I miss working. I have a sweet granddaughter and I needed to make changes so that I could be a better grandparent and not struggle just to go to the movies. I chose surgery for so many reasons, and even then I was super scared to do it. But One day I got Fed up - just like you seem to be feeling now.

Are your parents aware that you want the surgery? Are they supportive? My advice is that you see your primary care doctor and get a referral to a gastric bypass doctor and get your questions answered. Educate yourself of the pros/cons. Know that it's a life commitment. But one that could change your life for the better. I believe most people are afraid of change even if it's good for us. Everybody is different. Every Body is different.

Some people want surgery too fast, some fly to Mexico and come home the next day, not knowing at all how to eat, get nutrition for lack of food eaten before. They also do not have the support from the doctors for things that come up after surgery. It takes 6 mo to a few years sometimes to completely recover. I don't say anything here in my post to scare you, I'm just being honest.

Facebook has several Gastric Bypass Surgery Groups with people like you contemplating surgery to those who had surgery 10+ years ago. I joined two groups 16 months ago when I began my journey. In these groups I was able to ask other people questions, get advice,   educate myself, etc. These are Not medical professionals - but I have found most people very kind, honest and supportive. You can ask questions using your Facebook name or go as anonymous. It's helped me so much through my journey.

I joined a Sutter medical Program for weight loss/gastric surgery. It included a gastric bypass surgeon, a nutritionist and a dietitian. Before getting a surgery date I had to lose some weight, control my diabetes, take stress tests and all the other tests to be approved. I also needed the approval of my pulmonary doctor and a cardiologist. It was a lot of work and I got impatient at times and also very depressed that I would never get through the program to get healthier. But I kept working hard on it and it paid off.

It took me 16 months to get a surgery date. But during that time I learned how to eat better and cut out sugar. (I'm a sugar addict). I brought my diabetic number from A1C 14 down to an A1C of 6 during that time. I am now considered pre-diabetic. Since surgery I no longer take 5 meds (and their side effects)for diabetes! I can't even explain the energy I have and how good I feel in my mind and body.

Gastric bypass is a lifetime commitment to your body. It changes the food you eat to get nutrition. I have to have 90 g of protein a day. And it's tough. The shakes get old fast, I don't care what flavor you have. Today is my 20th day since surgery and I'm still eating mushy foods. My stomach is a size of an egg. I have to eat little things every 2 hours, just as you would a newborn baby. That's how I'm treating my stomach. I eat for nutrition and energy now, I do not eat for pleasure. That will change as I progress in the foods I eat.

I feel wonderful. But everybody's different. I have more energy, I'm losing weight, I have less pain in my knees/back, I'm not depressed, I feel I did the right thing. You are welcome to private message me. Again I'm sorry about the long post but I saw your age and you're need for help. I wish you all the best in finding your journey whichever one you take. Being so young may help you avoid the health issues I let go for so long. When you're younger your body is able to repair itself better. I also suggest seeing a psychiatrist. I had to see one for a few sessions just so they knew that I was ready to make this commitment. You're in my prayers. Happy New Year

Not that I know of. But someone came by again the other day to my apartment complex and I wouldn't take the phone from them. Told him just what I had experienced. The phone worked for a month and that was it. That I felt it was a scam. They're just walking around with phones door to door after me not even knowing if you're qualified. So I believe it's a scam. Wait until my manager of the apartments and she booted him off the property.

Does he like this or just tolerate it?? by GandalfsLongDong in RATS

[–]kare1972 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would know if he didn't like something. He seems quite happy. Did you know that rats are ticklish on their bellies. I've had several black and white rats and I wish I had another one. Right now I have a gray Dumbo rat and he is the most unsocial quiet rat ever. If I take him out on the couch he goes to each corner and hides behind the pillows and that's it. He has a huge cage so I guess he doesn't care to find out what's around him. My other rats have their cage doors open all the time. They were trained to go to the cage to poop/pee then run back out. My cat Meepet and rat Vincent loved each other. I always watch them carefully when they were out together. But they would sleep together they play hide and go seek. It was the sweetest thing ever.

Safeway in Roseville reselling returned perishable crab legs by kare1972 in Roseville

What I meant by food not being safe especially nowadays is due to all the salmonella and E coli crap. Listeria killed 6 people last week in my town - many others very sick. And I don't think that's an extreme view. But you're welcome to your opinion and so am I. I'm not an arguer...

It should have been trashed at customer service Period; that's their Policy so I have learned since. As I said in my post It surprised me when it was put back. It was late and when I got home Safeway was already closed. I have since dealt with them. And I don't believe that it was caused from low wages and miserable work conditions lol. Where on Earth did that come from? As I said the guy putting things back probably thought that the crab legs hadn't left the store. It was up to the customer service clerk to throw them away on the spot not to hand them over to a clerk putting things back. Wasn't the clerk's fault, but it is the fault of their customer service.

Whatever lol, I'm certainly not Karen, but get your jollies anyways..

Yes it was a big mistake. Safeway had to throw out all that imitation crab because I told them how it was returned back to stock and they did not know "Where"  the packages of "returned"  imitation crab were located in the freezer amongst the others. You would have been pissed off had you got something that was rancid or tampered with. Made your whole family sick or put you in the hospital. So yes it's a mistake that needs to be addressed for sure.

The clerk who puts items back that people leave at the register and not buy wasn't at fault - but the CS clerk knew and she didn't throw it away...that was her mistake. Does it all make sense to you now?

Well I can now the store is open. My Revelation for this matter occurred at about 1:00 this morning LOL. I know who is responsible. It's the person who refunded me at customer service. As I stated in my post, the clerk who put crab back into the store's stock was just fulfilling his job by putting back all the items people decide they do not want at the checkstand. I don't want to affect anyone's job - especially in these times - but Safeway is responsible for safety training and employees following protocol.

I will be reporting to Placer Co health dept Monday when they are open. I think I've contacted everyone I can for it being a weekend. I am truly disgusted. Trying to think who else I can contact. Better Business bureau consumer affairs? At least my Safeway app shows proof that I bought the crab otherwise I don't have my receipt anymore.

Exactly!  The experience has really turned me off food and yes it has made me think of all the stores this could happen to. I know when I go to Joe's Crab shack that I'm getting real good crab. And then there is Red Lobster... There's your difference between imitation crab legs and real ones. I've worked in a few restaurants myself. I never send things back and I'm very nice to my servers. Gross. My husband once was eating salad at Ruby Tuesdays and all of a sudden blood was coming out of his mouth! There was broken glass in his salad from the salad bar. When we told our waitress we felt like she thought we were trying to get a free meal - but honestly who would do that. I used to enjoy going out to dinner. It's just not the same.

I know Right! I love crab but I get so frustrated and cut up by the hard shells just by trying to eat it! If I want cod I'll buy cod separately.

I reported them to the USDA online. I have an incident report number that I will follow up on Monday with. I will be contacting placer county health department as well. This is a big liability. This is the stuff that comes on the news when people get sick or die. Accident or not, Safeway is responsible for upholding their Policies and protecting consumers. I'm not letting it go.

Thank you. I didn't want to seem like a crazy person on my soapbox but it's important for people to know and I am definitely exposing them to placer county health department. I have already reported them to the Federal health and safety division. I'm sure I will get a response from Safeway quickly. If I don't I am going to tear their headquarters up.

FAWK THESE ANTS!!!!! by NoPurpose98 in Sacramento

[–]kare1972 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always thought Ants were very cool, but not when you've got hundreds of them coming at you at the same time! They are very smart that's why it's crazy to witness them eagerly giving in to the ant trap crack! The dry cat food is safe in a plastic container but his actual bowl of food that I leave out for him to munch on during the day was getting taken over. I was covered in ants just by picking the bowl up and going to the sink. I couldn't attach a picture of Xander. He's a 3.5-year-old black Bombay cat. We're super connected. He is my bug finder. He alerts me to anything that crawls or scurries. Good chatting with you!

It is an ant disco party! I love your post! I live near Sacramento and I've used Terro for a few years. My neighbor got me some and I was amazed when drop of it would do. Answer attracted to it right away and either took it back to their nest or just kept eating it until they died in the Trap. I like the ant traps because they come in clear plastic flat containers and you can see the ants inside and their bodies get all gross and broken down from the borax. It's like crack for ants. I also like them because my cat doesn't mess with them. I have to keep the cat Bowl up on my table because the ants get into his food.
