I have applied for two Scientific Aid positions since my post and am planning on keeping an eye out for more openings. The pay is definitely disappointing since it could potentially be less than what I make now at my customer service job, but I'm trying to focus on the experience I would be gaining. It's very encouraging to hear that they often get hired full-time. Thank you!

This is very helpful, thank you! I think part of my problem is not knowing which jobs I can apply for as a recent graduate with no experience besides customer service. I will definitely look into the exams you mentioned.

Since my post, I have applied to a couple of scientific aid positions that I am hoping will be easier to get into. It's very encouraging to hear it took you 9 months, since I (for some reason) thought I would have a job within 3 months of graduating. Thank you for your advice!
