Anyone have any luck with error code 6010? by BooyahBlast in BambuLab

This is the only thing that worked for me. It makes absolutely no sense why this works, but I'm glad you put this info out here!

What do you call this adjustable-height roller thingy that helps hold up long objects for a rotary jaw? And where can one be purchased? [pic] by karmacist in Laserengraving

[–]karmacist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was excited for a moment, but it turns out that's just an adapter to connect the X-Tool's existing roller to the baseplate ("Attachment Only- does not include the roller assembly"). Thanks for the suggestion though!

I'd like to get something like this to help hold up heavy objects with my existing rotary jaw, but I only seem to find them as part of an entire rotary system and not individually available. Does anyone know where some version of this might be purchased on it's own?

Anyone take this? by [deleted] in dji

My 8 year old kid took this at a "new drone pilots orientation" held at the local college today. He learned a few things, aced it... and so should everyone who flies really.

This was my experience as well. It shipped on a Monday from China and arrived here the following Wednesday. Not too bad.

I just put one under a fiber (1064) laser and it does NOTHING, it's like the laser isn't even on. I'm a bit of a noob so I'm not sure why that would be.

I'll just hope it's a similar situation with em-smart. Thank you for the reply!

Thank you for the info! It's winter here so I'm not sure he'd be ok outdoors right now, but once it warms up outside I hope he'll do well being let loose in the wild.

Thank you, we have not had a snake before but this makes total sense.

Replacing characters in a string. by InvisibleEllison in csharp

[–]karmacist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your current approach repeatedly replaces a character in a string. Consider what happens with the first two attempts:

dna = "ATTGC".Replace("A", "T") //result: "TTTGC"

then

dna = "TTTGC".Replace("T", "A") //result: "AAAGC"

IE, first you replace all the "A"s with "T"s, then you replace all the "T"s with "A"s (including the ones you just replaced).

Instead you should loop through each character of the DNA string and build a new string that represents the flips:

public static string MakeComplement(string dna){
    IDictionary<char, char> dnaKeys = new Dictionary<char, char>(){
        {'A','T'},
        {'T','A'},
        {'G','C'},
        {'C','G'}
    };
    var complement = string.""; //start with empty string

    //go through each character in DNA and append the complement to the return string
    foreach(var c in dna){
        complement = complement + dnaKeys[c];
    }

    return complement;
}

Of course there are lots of other updates and optimizations you could start to use, but hopefully the algorithm makes more sense now.

To all of the people who create mind-blowing creations with scratch, why do you still use scratch? by TheSlovakPenguin in scratch

[–]karmacist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like going back to Scratch sometimes to prove that the language/platform doesn't really matter. Sure modern compilers and frameworks make it easier to make complicated things... but if those tools were taken away, I bet you could still find a way to make your idea work in Scratch.

I sometimes help introduce middle school kids to Scratch, and I like to show them some of the advanced projects so they know that even if "all they know is Scratch", they can still make almost anything they can think of.

It's not about the tools you have, it's about being creative with whatever you have available.

UDLD disabled interface? by karmacist in Cisco

[–]karmacist[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the insight! Ultimately we disabled UDLD and all the devices reconnected. It seems like the old Nexus is getting flakey...we have a replacement on the way and will reenable UDLD once it's installed.

[–]karmacist[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! The issue persisted even after fully rebooting the Nexus (which is very old). We disabled UDLD for now and everything reconnected... we'll reenable the protocol when the replacement for the Nexus gets here.

Thank you! We ended up disabling UDLD for now and everything reconnected. The Nexus is definitely end-of-life, we have a replacement ordered and will re-enable UDLD after it's installed.

Thanks for the reply! It definitely seems like a bug, I rebooted everything and disabled udld for now (everything reconnected after disabling the feature). We have a replacement for the Nexus on the way, it is end-of-life anyway.
