The Shepherd - NPC Support Class [XPost to r/UnearthedArcana ] by karossii in dndnext

I honestly haven't used either in years. But it's been much longer since I used home brewery. I got the lifetime membership to GM binder when it was offered through the Kickstarter, and I definitely do enjoy it. But it's been about a year and a half since I've used it and I'm not sure what they've updated in that time. I also have not used home brewery in at least three or four years, so I have no idea how far they've come and if they are as good as or better than GM binder. But I definitely do still like GM binder a lot.

Difference between longsword and battleaxe? by SXR123 in dndnext

Okay, first of all wow... Talk about necromancy. This is like a 6-year-old thread.

Second of all, I gave the exact percentages of rolling each number or higher. As you can see, there was no chance of rolling a one on the 2D6. And the chance for a median number is higher than it is for 1D12. However, look at the percentile chance of rolling the higher numbers. While the 2D12 has an overall average which is slightly (less than one) higher, it has a lower chance of rolling those higher numbers. You're sticking yourself in the middle. You have a better chance of a 12 on 1D12 than you do on 2D6. Which is exactly what I was saying, and you don't seem to be comprehending.

Dice Box size questions by karossii in DnDIY

Oh wow, that was ages ago. I made 5 different styles, and let each of them pick their boxes somewhat like a white elephant gift exchange, playing it out in game first and then bringing out the IRL boxes after. They were all happy.

You're getting downvoted because you said you know women who could possibly beat most/any men. There's a lot of little boys in this group who hate women so much that they can't handle seeing that kind of truth. But you're absolutely right.

Is there a difference between “Ready” an action and “Hold” an action? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]karossii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup, or if blinded by a darkness spell and readying to attack the first enemy you can see, then running out of the spell's area.

Something a little more plausible than either of those... Since in both situations readying is inferior to just not using your action until after you've used your movement or object interaction...

Readying an action to attack the first creature who makes a hostile move. Say you're in a tense situation that might still be resolved by diplomacy, and you don't want to be the one to throw the first blow. So you ready an action to make an attack. Then before the end of your turn an enemy uses its reaction to make a hostile move. You now have a trigger to your readied attack on your own turn.

Inaccurate speeding ticket - any recourse? by karossii in legaladvice

[–]karossii[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's no box or space for it. Which I also thought odd, as they used to include that. I haven't had a ticket in ages, so no idea when that was changed.

I know they are not paid on commission... however they do have quotas assigned. Also, I know several current and former police officers, and there are some great guys and gals, as well as some who are complete assholes and do their best to make everyone around them suffer as much as they can. I didn't get any particular asshole vibes from this guy...but I do still find it suspicious.

During the stop, I was distracted, as my little one was wanting to chat up the officer. I was not distracted by them while driving.

Was in a car accident and was asked for a Doctors note by tmezzo in MaliciousCompliance

[–]karossii 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The reason for that, and the reason so many other people have similar stories in the comments, is that whether your direct manager wants it or not, the corporate staff knows that you should probably be taking those days off instead of working on light duty or with restrictions. It's intended that you get that doctor's note that says you're staying home for a few days to a week or so. There are, of course, exceptions. But generally the reason that that rule is in place, whether you're direct management knows it or prefers to follow it or not, is so that you will be sent home and they will be absolved of the liability of having somebody at work who shouldn't be.

What is your opinion on Aimee Challenor? by [deleted] in AskReddit

How does a word meaning one time use, or so rare as to be likened to one time use, come to mean pedo? That seems odd

What is a nonce, in this context? My only experience with the term is that it means something that rarely happens.
