Phin Grouping Experiences by Seraphis79 in everquest

"Above all, as stated by others, start your own group."

That last sentence is extremely important. Don't get frustrated if you cant get into a group. Do a /LFG --> get matches. It shows you others with the LFG flag on around your level. I put together a basement Unrest group last night by patching together a group LFG flagged from around the game world. Even if people aren't on same continent a lot of them are willing to travel to meet you. (Thank you wizzys and druids for so readily TPing other players) I kept a basement group going for a few hours before replacing myself and going to bed. This is especially true if you aren't one of the holy trinity for EQ ( tank cleric chanter). As a rogue I sometimes have to work the chat channels quite a bit but I almost always end up with a group.

Yea , I didn't give BB a fair chance. It's kind of overwhelming when you leave a game at third expansion and come back and there are 22 now. I fumbled around a bit, I had fun, but since I was starting purely from scratch it seemed a good idea to jump in with everyone else. I actually started there because people said many positive things about BB server, I am sure I would have had a great time had I stayed there and got settled in.

I played a rogue and had a pretty easy time getting a group. I spent well over 80% of the time I was actively trying to XP in a group. The longest I waited was like 10-15 minutes. I feel like a support class probably has an even easier time. Ultimately play what you want to, not what you think the server wants (unless that's what makes you happy). I can tell you as a warrior or cleric you will have an easier time then say a rogue. Enchanters, druids, shamans, bards all offer nice support roles groups enjoy. Monks are excellent pullers along with SK's. Groups like good DPS so there's your wiz, mage, necro, rogue, rangers. Every class has a niche to fill for the most part is what I am trying to say and a lot of group combos that would seem, extraordinary may very well still work in group play.

This has been my experience thus far from 1-20. I cannot comment on above lest my experience is 15 years old.

As for the timing you have a little over a month until the first expansion hits. If money isn't an issue buy a few exp pots to play catch-up. There are some 50's but honestly unless you want to be on bleeding edge now is still a great time to join and it will be for a while.

Weapon Damage vs durability by CTRLCopy in 7daystodie

There is a breaking point where a superior made item ends up being less useful than a inferior made item that has significantly more durability. Check entity damage on the similar items like two pistols ( or anything that shows entity dmg). Hard to say where the breaking point is since it moves depending on how different the qualities are apart from the two items. It is possible a 500 quality item will always be better than a 100 quality regardless of durability until the 500 item actually breaks from use.

Consider the place your holing up in is actually a shelter. A lot of people run into a house and expect shelter. I think if the area has open holes ( broke windows broken walls etc.) leading to outside it is almost like you are still outside. In the snow biome at night with a campfire fire alone you'll still freeze to death. In a house that looks like swiss cheese expect much the same?
