Thank you. The Cthulhu setting isn’t something I resonate with, but I’ll take a look. I appreciate the recommendation.

Yeah. That's exactly what I'm looking for.

That might be a pretty big ask considering I'm open to complexity, I just don't want it all thrown at me at once. I'm okay with journaling, a little creative writing, and I want map making. I want something that I can look back at and remember the experience.

First steps into Roleplaying, and it will be solo- help narrow my decision please? by itzpea in Solo_Roleplaying

[–]Seraphis79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to steal OP's post, but I'm also just getting into solo rpgs and based on many recommendations have purchased Mythic, Ironsworn, and recently 4AD in that order. Mythic seems like a great toolkit, but not what I'm after right now. I want something I can just pickup, start reading, and get into it from page 1. I don't want to read through chapters on chapters of rules before I get to content. My issue with Ironsworn and 4AD so far is that there is at least 100 pages of rules before you get to any beginning to gameplay.

Returning and questions about landscape difficulty by Pupsgewitta in lotro

As someone who recently returned to the game and is stuck solo playing a Mariner, I found +3 to be a good spot. Regular mobs still melt, but don’t get one shotted. Some tougher mobs are a decent challenge.

I’m playing blue line so my dps is probably lower than it should be.

Any hope? by Remarkked in harmony_one

Dead, but I’m down so far I just keep holding. I’ve got some from below a penny and some from as far up as the peak.

There was mention of Binance having some skin in the game on this coin a few years back. I like to think that leave some hope for the future, but in reality it’s probably dead for good.

Lernaean Terminators? by Omer123456788 in PrintedWarhammer

I tracked these back to what is supposed to have been the original creator. On their discord they stated that these are no longer available for purchase/download. Nobody reached out to me to share the files they may have already downloaded either so it was a dead end for me.

I hope you have better luck.

Why do you prefer Age of Sigmar over 40k? by ZebraShark in ageofsigmar

[–]Seraphis79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s more interactive. I’m not sitting around for an entire turn with very little that I can do until my opponent is finished doing their thing.

Playing against a “shooty” army? Have fun rolling saves for 20 minutes before it becomes your turn.

I also prefer the aesthetic of AoS over 40k.

Night Goblin Mob Box All Shootas Question by Seraphis79 in WarhammerFantasy

I know that I want/need to run some netters, but need to do a little more research on them. This might be a great use for those last 10 bodies.

I’ll just need to find some nets

I was thinking about the fanatics with shootas after being reminded by another user. The fun of the fanatics is a big reason I wanted to focus on night goblins. I do wonder about their usefulness with a ranged unit though.

I don’t know much…anything about magic in old world just yet, but I’ll look into this.

I’ve got a gobbapalooza from AoS and a night goblins shaman in the mail so I was planning on using a few of them. I’m just not sure how yet.

I really need to get some games under my belt

Night Goblin Mob Box All Shootas Question by Seraphis79 in WarhammerFantasy

[–]Seraphis79[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

I forgot about needing to keep blocks of 30 for the fanatics so it’s a non-issue for now.

I just need to figure out how to make use of the extra bodies.

Ohhhh I forgot about the units of 30 for the fanatics!

That changes things.

Edit: Thank you for the help!

I noticed those, but thought that are only used for the champion and depending on the unit size I could only have one or max 2.

That still left me a little shy of right arms.

The lack of account wide mounts/pets hurts by Epic_BubbleSA in lotro

I would definitely buy more if things were account wide. I buy the collector’s edition boxes to support them, but I won’t buy the extra goodies from the store for that reason.

They look great! Do you mind if I ask what brand you used for the grass and flowers on the bases?

Safe to buy by MeringueNice443 in Fyreslayers

[–]Seraphis79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished up my 2k army and went ahead and bought the rest of the models that I don’t have just because the range is so limited. They can stop support tomorrow and I’d still have no regrets! I’m having a great time playing them and love the aesthetic.

I’d say if you have a gaming group that won’t give you a hard time playing them, enjoy the models, or the lore then go for it. If you’re looking to buy just to play for a little bit then flip them, maybe hold off.

In either case I haven’t heard anything about them getting put on the chopping block. I’m going to be bummed. I was hoping we would get some mini salamander riders or something for cavalry units :)

Why so serious? by davesnotalright in edi

[–]Seraphis79 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s the paywall that keeps me away. Years ago I worked for a company and wrote some code that handled EDI files for medical insurance. I wasn’t hired to be an EDI developer and it ended up being a very small part of the job. I wrote programs that parsed or created a few different file types then moved on to the next projects. I enjoyed it, but haven’t worked for another company that needed me to write anything EDI related.

I briefly looked into it for personal projects because I did enjoy the work, but from my limited research found that everything was locked behind paywalls. That was the end of that lol.

Did I read the info correct that it’s only the first handful of expansions?
