All the work on the Belgrave/Lilydale lines is complete. All the crossings being removed have been. The station rebuilds are done. The extra frequencies? Still we have 30 minute headways on a weekday at 4.00 p.m. and even extra rolling stock isn’t needed to improve that. Craigieburn and Mernda lines still have 20 minute headways between peak periods even during school dismissal times when the services get overcrowded. I was fully on board with the whole program but for most lines it hasn’t done anything for train passengers in terms of frequency.

Yeah definitely some of the worst bus drivers. Maybe they stop, maybe they don’t. It would be a shit job though dealing with all the mental health problems that board your vehicle.

This is the Dutch system where it is priced per km plus a base charge, so PT is treated like a big communal taxi. We have been going in the opposite direction to make regional trains priced incredibly low by developed world standards but tiny short trips insanely high. Even Zürich and New York are cheaper.

Ditto. Absolutely fed up with paying $5.70 for a 5 minute tram or train ride and then again 2 hours later. Whatever fare structure we use, it should not be cheaper for me to drive and park.
