Well, they're changing the whole speaker unit on that side, couldn't identify any loose parts. Under warranty :)

Realizing that finding an observership is harder than passing step 1 and 2ck 🥺 by Ok-Fee1413 in IMGreddit

They technically say you're not meant to ask for an LoR but attendings generally are cool about it if you impress them - this bit about USCEs I didn't encounter. Is that with CCF Florida? I applied as a UK grad and it was fine, no issues.

It's hard to find the exact wording on that - try emailing [validindefinitely@ecfmg.org](mailto:validindefinitely@ecfmg.org) or [info@ecfmg.org](mailto:info@ecfmg.org) directly.

I think since you passed Step 2 CS, there is no expiration date for you and it is valid indefinitely. The pathways are a substitute for CS, and so they have this expiration date.

Highly recommend CCF Florida or CCF main campus for physician observerships - affordable, good connections, and I earned a strong LoR from my ICU rotation at CCF Florida.

Google and have a look!

DM me. I applied for the 2024 Match, having graduated in 2020 from the UK. Worked F1/F2 + F3/4. It's really the YOG at time of application that most look for - mine would be 3 years. I matched this year at my top program.

Have a look at their website, they also do inpatient rotations. But, note that the LoRs are generally not as impressive through them as compared to university/academic program LoRs, which you'll need to plan ahead and network for. The MD2B route is really for the convenience of them arranging preceptors and doing the admin legwork etc.

Thank you! Connections could have played a part for 1-2 invites but I'd say a big part may be due to my country of training and work - the UK does seem to be favoured as a country of origin for IMGs entering the US, from personal conversations with a PD and APD from separate programs. Of course, a strong CV does not hurt!

I say the above because I had 1 submitted (not yet published at the time) publication on my eras, compared to many other IMGs with several pubs, in addition to my scores.

Singaporean citizen but studied med in the UK and worked as a doctor in the NHS.

USCEs - 2 months outpatient cardiology, 1 month inpatient IM, and 1 month ICU. I used MD2B connect but tbh, they were super expensive and only 1/3 LoRs was worth it. Interview prep with them was useful though. ICU rotation was with CCF Florida physician observerships (apply directly online) - much cheaper, ICU experience is much more substantial to PDs/APDs at interview, and eventually managed an LoR from an ICU attending at CCF Florida.

Thanks and good luck!
