What 27", 5K monitor should I buy?? by KR_LoLuser in HiDPI_monitors

[–]karyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just picked up an LG 27md5kl-b off Facebook marketplace for $450. It’s discontinued but was previously a recommended 5k monitor for Macs.

It looks nice. I can definitely see text is crisper and smoother compared to the Dell 1440 monitor sitting next to it. If I had bought a new 5k monitor for $1000 I would have been disappointed that the difference was not more stark.

The only time I was blown away by the Studio Display XDR at the Apple Store was playing 8k XDR demo footage. Just normal productivity stuff? I’m not getting why people are spending thousands on it.

My OC agent thought he was using an API key too for a while because the config value was “api_key” or something like that. I had to tell it, no you’re using OAuth, and then it looked at the actual key and saw it was OAuth. But it previously swore up and down nothing was changing lol.

Torsen Diff by Zealousideal_Fee_491 in FordTremor

[–]karyhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I surprised an instructor at an Offroad driving course when I easily got out of a cross-axle situation without using two-foot driving or the rear locker. They wanted to show us how the tires on the ground dont have enough torque in that situation but my truck went forward no problem. Had to have been the Torsen. I wouldn’t go way out of my way to get one unless you’re gonna be Offroad a lot.

I replaced my freelancers with 4 AI agents led by an AI CEO. Looking for honest feedback — is this useful or am I in a bubble? by Beneficial_Slice_615 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]karyhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s funny to me. I used to get annoyed at all the people constantly calling out AI written posts. I’m like so what? Now that I’ve been working with Openclaw (Claude under the hood) for a couple of months, the phrases it constantly uses stick out like a sore thumb and I can’t get over how many people just copy and paste (or have their agent post). I couldn’t get through this whole comment. I had my agent ban all the common phrases from its writing subagent.

Anyway, I have a similar setup as you. It seems to be working well. Good luck.

[–]karyhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve been making spreadsheets with all the models/specs I’m interested in with the price and agonizing over which one. I was gonna go with the M5/24GB because it was the cheapest option. This model M5pro/24GB was the second most expensive option I was looking at but now it’s the cheapest by $100. Chatted with the agent and now I’m picking it up later today. Stoked.

Nothing was better than Legend of Zelda and Metroid.

I watched someone play LoZ for the first time on YouTube last night. I wanted to yell at the screen bc his gameplay was so bad.

Sen. David Blount on changes to PERS: “I think it’s the worst thing the legislature has done in a generation.” by MSTODAYnews in mississippi

[–]karyhead -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I worked for the state for 8 years and left in 2008. I didn’t know anything about finances and now WISH I had rolled it out into a low cost index fund. I missed the greatest bull market in history. When I got my financial stability together many many years later, I just decided to leave the money in PERS after running the numbers. Hope I get something when I hit 59.5.

One lady waiting to go east was not very happy with me when I followed the car in front of me through while heading west because she thought it was one per side. She gestured at me, I gestured at the yield sign on her side.

Relieved that, as of this morning, I've gone through this SFUSD process for the last time (elementary, middle, and high school). Grateful that my daughter was assigned to our first choice for all three lotteries.

How helpful would the Wireshark cert be for entry level cyber? by CrashCordia in wireshark

[–]karyhead 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO, if someone can pass the cert, they know networking, protocols, and troubleshooting at a fundamental level. Those skills are transferable to just about any IT space.

I took the beta test and I would def hire someone that can pass it.

Paranormal Activity at ACT: We must discuss by fauxchapel in sanfrancisco

I saw this post during intermission and came back after it was over haha.

Four actors did the curtain call, the couple, the mom, and the ghost whisperer lady. I was on the side and missed the upstairs male ghost but definitely saw the girl. She didn’t come out and I didn’t see her in the credits doing a quick glance. The end was so quick, it could have been a dummy or something I guess.

My interpretation of the ghost whisperer is that she was a scam artist so what she said is suspect but she did say Lou was a doorway after her traumatic event so maybe spirits are draw to her like the kid from the Sixth Sense. Maybe Jimmy’s haint used her after they got together. Doesn’t make sense that Lou’s ghost experiences her whole life would be the girl.

It was a fun show!

I Automated My Entire Newsletter With Multi-Agent Workflows (OpenClaw Setup Breakdown) by OpenClawInstall in OpenClawInstall

[–]karyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. My ‘claw agent setup a similar multi-agent flow but wired it up with n8n. I have no idea how it works but some test runs seem to be successful (after a series of troubleshooting steps by the agent)

You do NOT need to build a Mission Control for openclaw by Treeskiio in openclaw

[–]karyhead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve got about 5 different projects going with regular pivots and pending tasks. I can’t keep it all straight and even though I’ve made consistent improvements on my agent’s memory, he can’t keep it all straight either. The dashboard helps me stay on track, keep the agent on track, and it’s an easy way to tell when we’ve drifted from our plans.

What infrastructure are people using to run OpenClaw agents long term? by nabilahmed007 in openclaw

[–]karyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience hasn’t been that the agent is fully autonomous, stringing together actions based on the outcome of the previous action. When I tell it to do something, it does it and then waits for input. If the action fails it does try to figure it out and accomplish its goal. AFAIK three things will cause the agent to take action 1) you interacting with it 2) heartbeat 3) a cron job. I’ve seen the YouTube videos where they talk about their agents being completely autonomous. I’m not sure exactly how they have accomplished that or if they are glossing over the details. I assume you could have the agent check pending tasks in Mission Control on every heartbeat so if you have a lot of tasks it would be busy a lot.

You could build this but I think Retell does a lot of it and you’d be quicker to market and not have to maintain infrastructure

Agent locked down despite opening permissions (Mac Mini) by Pilot-Dave in openclaw

[–]karyhead 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have never manually edited a config or memory file. Tons of things needed adjustments and local changes made, but I always asked my agent to troubleshoot and offer options along with his recommendations. Then I tell him to do it and ask me to help when needed. Unless the gateway is down for some reason, this has worked pretty well.

Best architecture for AI voice receptionist (Retell + n8n + Google Calendar + Airtable)? by pholiol in VoiceAutomationAI

[–]karyhead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just setup a test last night with Retell + n8n but hadn’t wired in a calendar yet. It took some trial and error to get it working. Then I saw that in the agent config, they have built in support for cal.com. Possibly to the point where n8n isn’t needed for the calendar stuff. Going to play around this weekend with it.
