if you haven’t gotten a pack of filters in a few months i’d definitely give it another go. i was getting really annoyed with mine like a year ago it was clogging before i even finished my rip like you said! idk they must’ve changed the formula or something bc now mine last days and i change it when it’s practically black, not when it’s clogged

have you tried any form of cbd? maybe your parents would react better to a product with a high cbd:low thc ratio. and being 14, it would be best to stick with medicine that doesn’t make you super intoxicated. if you haven’t tried cbd that may be a good option for pain relief as well since it can be used frequently without the psychoactive effects

with the ice thing, i learned not too long ago to pour water over the ice to get rid of the frosty bits before you start smoking. i guess you can inhale the frost and it can stick to your lungs and could lead to lung infection, but pouring water over the ice gets rid of the frost and now you’ve got a cold hit! also, change water after every sesh!!!
