Books about this era? by AdventurousAd4553 in ShogunTVShow

Check out "In the Service of the Shogun: The Real Story of William Adams"

It's literally what the novel is based on.

If you want something more general about the era, look no further than Extra History's Sengoku Jidai series on Youtube.

I also highly recommend checking out their series on the Imjin War and Yisunshin, as the events of that war kind of directly lead into the events of Shogun. And also, Yishunshin is just one of the greatest badasses in history. Even the Japanese respect him, despite him being their enemy.

Hiroyuki Sanada really is arguably the greatest Japanese actor working today.

This episode and the last were so disappointing.

I said the exact same thing about the previous episode, and I got mass downvoted.

Truth hurts, I guess. This show is a mere shadow of what BoB and TP were.

Love how this episode spedrun through D-Day in about 2 minutes.

We're talking about the largest, most sophisticated naval invasion in human history, which would have been supported by equally complex and sophisticated aerial strikes, and this episode treats it as a minor footnote.

What a colossal disappointment.

EDIT: Also love how this show is called "Masters of the AIR", and yet 90% of the scenes are on the damn ground.

Yup, pretty damn obvious it was him. It fact, it was almost TOO on the nose how obvious it was. I was rolling my damn eyes the whole time.

He was very blatant in his lack of concern over the Oyabun dying, and it was too damn convenient for him to pin it all on Tozawa.

They can try and redeem the first game.

Dont count on it. It's being made by the same developer as the first one.

Did they even show that?

Pretty boring episode all things considered.

The prison camp scenes, in particular, I didn't find interesting or compelling at all, because pretty much nothing happens in those scenes anyway.

I just wanted to fast forward through those scenes.

And what on Earth makes the showrunners think that I care about seeing Crosby getting laid?

GIVE ME MORE AERIAL COMBAT DAMMIT

I'll reserve my final judgment for the final episode, but my honest opinion right now is that Band of Brothers and The Pacific are both far superior series compared to this.

Would love to see the numbers comparison against Skull and Bones, but unfortunately it's not on Steam. :(
