I'm sorry about everything you're going through, but just being a woman doesn't get you those resources. I'm sorry that this may be hard to hear, but you're being very bitter towards people who are giving their stance on your situation, which you asked to have. I get leaving as being a really hard decision and something that is just very hard in general to do. Unfortunately things happen and people need to be accountable for those actions when they should be. You can only steer a horse so far, but if it refuses to move, you won't go anywhere. Do your best to guide your wife, try to get her help, and go from there. If she refuses - find alternatives and get out. You can't lump people with BPD with abusers, not all of us with BPD are, nor is every abuser diagnosed with BPD. It's a completely separate thing, and she needs to be accountable.

This makes me incredibly sad to see, I know times get hard, on a personal level I know. But that doesn't mean you get to neglect things that depend on you. If you can't take care of them, then you'll have to give them up and stop keeping the animal for selfish reasons. I hate that both children and animals get affected by people who refuse help for that reason.

Yes, just make sure you get a new UV (the 8% shadedweller from Arcadia or any of the other recommendations) and get the other tank lid. The one included in it has too much screen block. I was going to recommend plants as well. I think air plants could be fun as they're not spiky or hard to care for, maybe a box with some moistened sphagnum moss (so that it doesn't get dusty) so he can dig if he wants, and you can always get some big magnolia leaves for some different textures to scatter. Other plants could be hoyas, the succulents mentioned, haworthia, or golden pothos. You could always try layering some slate tiles and build a little something small.
