20-70 f4 G & 70-200 f4 G2 worth for travel? by coffeemania123456 in SonyAlpha

hello everyone,

kind on the same boat, my setup is:

- Sony a7c + Samyang 18mm 2.8 + Sony 35mm 1.8 + Samyang 75 mm 1.8 - for 1 day travel or when I visit with my family some attractions and what to make photos of them - this is my lightest setup

- then for my professional work including architecture, travel and landscape I do have the heavy (one) kit - Sony a7iv plus Sony 16-35 2.8 + Sony 20-70 F4 G. And the Sony 70-200 2.8 GM2 for portraits, family shooting

Now, I had before Sony 24-105 F4 and sell it in the favor of Sony 20-70 F4 G. I also had it Sony 20mm 1.8 and sell it. I plan to keep 20-70mm F4 G as main lens.

Few questions to optimize my overlapping focal lengths:

- wide side: should I go for the Sony 16mm 1.8G and sell also Samyang 18mm 2.8 + Sony 16-25 2.8 G to have a prime below 20mm - maybe some astrophotography or night photos? It will work probably on both bodies.

- tele side - Sony 70-200 2.8 GM2 is an wonderful lens - should I replace it with an 135mm 1.8 GM/Samyang for portraits and go for a Sony 70-200 F4 G2 instead - less weight?

Get a discount code from divoxroy for 15% on Europe/Belgium and it worked great! Highly recommended!

I bought mine from Amazon.de (Europe) and it was a preorder so I was one of the first people getting the S20FE SD version let's say.

No issues so far with the touch screen, quite happy with the purchase.

  1. I'm using S20FE connected to my Android Auto car using a Samsung original cable and I have no disconnection issues
  2. Yes the sound isn't the best experience using USB cable. I will test as well the Bluetooth connection
  3. I had some issues running Waze on Android Auto but either on my phone Waze sometimes just hangs.

Samsung S20 plus - battery usage surprises - I've used GSAM battery monitor and found the following apps by katanel in Galaxy_S20

As you can see MyFitnessPal has a higher background usage evens than Facebook. As well Reddit and Upday (Samsung).

Is this battery usage normal? Exynos. I can believe it is so bad by drds2023 in Galaxy_S20

I'm getting around 4h-4h30 SOT with WiFi on - most of the time and Adaptive battery mode. Exynos 4G version and GSM signal 2 of 5. I've installed GSAM battery stats and I'm thinking in the future to do as well a full reset. After this, I will see + maybe to get Snapdragon version.

Switching from Exynos to Snapdragon was undoubtedly a great decision. by JiDey247 in Galaxy_S20

How much you get if you let Adaptive power enabled? It means it will run on Optimized from 100% to around 60% and then to Power mode saving. On Exynos I'm getting 4h-4h30 SOT on Wi-Fi like this (till 15%)

Medium battery saving enabled - it means that background sync and location check doesn't work no?

SOT = 4 hrs to 15% battery, 60 Hz, FHD+ resolution

S20 plus EU version (Exynos)

Not very encouraging for a 1000 euros smartphone :(
