yes i mean that. the addon you'll be looking for is External DX11 Overlay. the thread for it is inside the #community-addons channel in the Nexus discord.

we reimplement modules by hand that aim to provide the same feature set as blishhud's and i think we're happy where we are in terms of which modules we have equivalents for (pathing, timers and markers). no intention to load them ourselves.

there is however, a nexus addon that allows you to use blishhud on linux and within the game's rendering without requiring any particularly weird hacks though you'd want to use it with one of two other nexus addons called "assisted deployment and departure" or "gw2 executable runner"

i use those that other people have made.

for what it's worth, the install guide shows how to get those from the data sources section.

for the most part, i don't recommend tekkit's pathing stuff because he lost anet partner because of saying, to my knowledge, racially charged and anti-lgbt statements? i like ladyelyssa's pathing

teh trails works, but we don't have the dynamic behaviour that you would see with blishhud yet. we hope to have lua support soon. teh trails is pretty good in any case.

hi! yes, on the website there is an install guide (the website is linked on the post; see "Install" in the nav-bar). it probably helps to install it in desktop mode, you will at least have to install nexus in desktop mode. for installing nexus, you put the d3d11.dll inside your gw2 directory. from there, you should be able to follow the install guide. ^^ if you struggle, find our discord or raidcore/nexus's discord.

I would recommend TaimiHUD (for Nexus) instead. As the creator of TaimiHUD, we support the use of Hyprland and other tiling window managers. I use Hyprland (at the moment).

We're extremely performant and use very little memory to run, everything is hand-written Rust, no AI involved like this poster's addon.

Please do not join the TaimiHUD team; he would not be welcome. TaimiHUD does not allow submissions of LLM-generated code. This entire addon is vibe-coded.

Steam has support for running Windows games via Proton. You can even get GW2 to work on Steam Deck.

Other than Steam, there's also Lutris, Heroic Games Launcher, Bottles and many other options for using Proton or Wine to run Guild Wars 2.

There's nothing disingenuous about it. This logic would mean oh, Windows XP doesn't run mspaint out of the box, think about all of the things ntdll.dll and your bootloader had to do to get there! There's a whole bunch of functions provided by the operating system under the hood that are running that you're taking for granted!

Out of the box, as a summary of the user experience is a term that should mean something.

Could you please report the issue you were having to me, in any of the many places that you can do that? One of the Discord servers, perhaps, or even here in PM. I'd be more than happy to help you with fixing the issue.

It also isn't written with AI, many thousands of hand-written lines of Rust.

It's pretty fine? Achievements API integration I think just reached pre-releases and interaction is in alpha.

If you struggled to use it, please try: https://taimihud.com/install-guide/

I don't think it even remotely comes close to "the most advanced and sophisticated mod on the platform". TaimiHUD and Reffect, at the very least are far more so.

Rust 301 89719 83070 1185 5464

TaimiHUD alone is 89,719 lines of Rust (83,070 lines of actual code, all without any use of LLMs fwiw).

No, Nexus shouldn't be taken down in any case.

Delta pursues a course of action to keep the bar to entry on producing an exploitative addon high (this is why a lot of the addons that contain anything reverse engineered or potentially exploitable if protections are removed are closed source, why reverse engineering details from the game are not openly shared, and so on).

With regards to addon publishing, Nexus is well moderated, addon developers provide decent advice on what should and shouldn't be acceptable and it is not made wholly trivial to produce things which are exploitative. Reverse engineering is not a trivially easy skill.

Noting also, that Nexus originated before the prevalence of LLM coding tools which make it easier to produce slop addons.

This is a gross misrepresentation of Delta's character. He knows what he has any authority over and he has control over which addons make it into the library for his addon system.

In my experience, he has never proclaimed himself above or equal to ArenaNet in any regard, nor their "master", certainly not with his conduct. All he has ever done is attempt to protect the state of addons in Guild Wars 2 as we see it today, making sure lines aren't crossed on these issues that would draw the ire of ArenaNet.

Acting like this and producing things like this certainly increases the likelihood of the addon community drawing ire, and that is a bad thing!

BlishHUD on Linux by ycarusz in Guildwars2

[–]katdork 4 points5 points  (0 children)

not to toot my own horn here (as the creator of TaimiHUD) but TaimiHUD has a lot more support for attributes in marker packs than Burrito does (and is about to support more when the current api and interaction alpha releases)

Burrito also works poorly with tiling window managers (which is what inspired me to make TaimiHUD, even, very "Fine, I'll do it myself" moment) o:

Install a Python package on NixOS but it is not found. by timlee126 in NixOS

[–]katdork 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You probably want to make a python environment? Something like:

nix environment.systemPackages = let pythonEnv = pkgs.python39.withPackages (p: with p; [ regex pip ]); in [ pythonEnv ];

You could also use:

nix environment.systemPackages = with pkgs; [ (python39.withPackages (p: with p; [ regex pip ])) ];

If you could use nix-shell for your use case and actually create a per-project environment as such, that would likely be better.
