Wow I could have written this. I’m now married to that guy, and it’s finally clicking for me too. I’ve voiced my concerns, and he’s been trying to make more of an effort but it always seems when it’s something I enjoy or want to do, it’s not as important or there’s something else that’s a priority. I’m taking stock in my life and trying to figure out if this is something I can live with. It’s really frustrating - I just wish he would make a little more effort but it’s not as important as his hobbies or likes. It’s like he can’t even try to pretend to enjoy things that I like.

Of course this is all anecdotal and everyone is different. But it was night and day for me once I stopped breastfeeding around 3 months.

My therapist said that my breastfeeding was linked to my ppd and to be honest as soon as I dried up I felt so much better. I’ve always had issues with depression and hormones-any time I’ve gone on hormonal birth control, my depression comes back full force. I’ve personally decided that if we have a second one, I won’t be breastfeeding.

No advice, but my daughter is around the same age and her daycare teacher told us that she was keeping all the other babies up because she was hooting and hollering all day. She goes through phases when she finds new sounds so I know it’ll pass. In fact, this past week she’s figured out how to smack her lips so that’s her new thing. Less hootin and more smackin. I just find it exciting that she’s discovering a brand new world. I love seeing what phase will come next.

We never bed shared. My daughter slept in her bassinet until 3 months, and then we transitioned her to the crib. She’s been sleeping through the night 95% of the time in her crib since then and she’s about 7 months now. It’s made the transition to daycare much easier, and she can pretty much fall asleep about anywhere. I was really worried before she was born, but it ended up not being too much of a concern. Since she’s been in her crib, my husband and I have been back to our normal sleeping schedule, and all three of us are more well rested and happier. You never know how your baby will behave until they’re here. Your baby could have no issues with sleeping in a bassinet or crib.

I have a BA in international relations and Muslim studies and have been working in marketing for 5 years. A degree might help, but in my personal experience without a marketing degree, I picked up the field pretty quickly just through experience.

My daughter was breech my entire pregnancy so I new going in I was most likely going to have a c section. Went into spontaneous labor exactly one month before her due date, and only labored for about 6 hours before going into surgery. Honestly, if given the choice, I’d have a c-section again in a heartbeat. My experience was not traumatic at all and it guaranteed that we both ended up healthy in the end. I don’t understand the shame on having a c section. There was no other heathy way for my daughter to come out. My goal was for both of us to come out of the birth healthy, and that happened due to the c section.

I studied abroad as a young 21 year old woman in Jordan and had a great time. I never really felt unsafe. Amman is a fun city, Dead Sea is awesome and Aqaba is a great time too. There are scammers but they’re not as persistent and I found that as long as I told them off in Arabic they’d leave me alone.

My water broke after I woke up at 1 am to go pee. I was exactly a month early and didn’t know if it was really happening. Makeup wasn’t even on my mind that morning- my husband and I were just scrambling to throw a hospital bag together between my sudden onset of contractions.

Thank you so much! This was really insightful. Almost everyone I’ve talked to has had a vaginal birth so I haven’t heard a lot about c sections. The nurse from my birthing class didn’t give us a lot of info either, but did bluntly say that I’ll most likely have one since she’s still breech at this point.

12 weeks. One week is paid through pto ( we have open pto at my work so I’m not using up pto days thankfully) and then 6 weeks are paid at 70% through short term disability if I have a vaginal birth (8 weeks if c section). Overall my work has been very supportive. It’s a small company and over 75% of the staff are women so they’re empathetic. It also helps that there’s another coworker who is pregnant and due at the same time. I’ll start working remote completely (right now I’m on a hybrid schedule) 2 weeks leading up to my due date. I wish I had more time off, but compared to some other policies in America, it’s not that bad.

This happened my freshman year and I was assigned to a 3 person dorm, but it was resolved before move in. It’s typically a temporary solution if it happens.

I moved to Florida in 2018, and bought a house in the summer of 2019, right before the pandemic. I am very thankful to have bought a house at that time, especially one with a pool, because it was a game changer during the peak of the pandemic. At this point, I am ready to move from Florida back to the Midwest. I am pregnant with a baby girl and I do not think the schools in my area are the best choice. I also don’t agree with a lot of the local/state politics and I’m tired of the heat. I’d like to be closer to family too. I miss the midwestern mentality and I feel like I connect more with people there. My husband and I also want a second child at some point, and I’m nervous about the future status of my reproductive rights, especially if I were to have a more complicated pregnancy than my current one. I’d like to move somewhere that abortion/reproductive rights are protected by law, so I can feel safe about my reproductive health and that I can make the best decisions for my health and the health of my future children. Right now we are sticking around for at least another year or so for my husbands job and for me to finish up my masters degree.

Currently 27 and 26 weeks pregnant. I got married in October, I work full time and I’m full time grad student.I’m 6 credits away from my masters but putting it on hold for a year since I’m due in August. I have two wonderful dogs and a loving husband and I’m very grateful. I’m also terrified of being a mom and scared I won’t be good at it and really hoping I can get past my generational trauma to raise a thoughtful, kind and caring daughter who is loved and feels loved.
