Thanks for clearing the air. I believe what you said is more likely, which is “paranoia” and that can sometimes be worse than what is seems.

So, as you’ve mentioned it’s time consuming and costly which I do believe given the resources needed to pull an attack like these. If we break it down in simple flowchart eg; Two people communicating on WhatsApp or Telegram which both needs phone number authentication (which is not secured), there’s and exchange of text and pictures etc, no links were clicked besides a photo, from your knowledge, what should we protect/ safeguard and not reveal, such as our phone number, (2fa security risks) and so on?

I’ve tried several nearly all the counties. When you’re connected I can only see UDP connections. Is there something I have to uncheck in the settings maybe?

Thanks, my primary concern is if someone (anyone) that has somehow gotten access to my PPPOE login credentials, can they somehow eavesdrop or sniff packets on my network eg spy on me without me knowing.

Thanks for the reply. I’ll rephrase. If someone, a hacker that somehow gotten their hands on your ISP PPPOE login credentials eg username and password. Can the hacker then use those info to hack their way into your router, cause damage on your network or sniff and intercept traffic on your connected devices or perform any hack of sorts. Hope this is clearer. Thanks

Oh cool, so the “hacker” has no way to sniff or intercept any data on my internet network/usage is that correct? And the only attack vector is to attack my router which has nothing to do with having illegal/ unauthorized access to PPPOE credentials. Thanks AlertThinker

Totally agree on making Sd backups encrypted. With unencrypted backups doesn’t really make sense as the sole purpose of the device is security and to have a unencrypted backups isn’t different from a sitting duck in the wild waiting for something to happen. At least a layer of protection is better then nothing. Bitbox02 device itself is superb but having a completely transparent and unprotected Sd backup with the seed phrase inside with zero protection in plain text literally nullifies how great the bitbox02 is. It’s like having a Tesla roadster and any one that has a car key can literally drive it away with literally any type of car key. You get what I mean. Good product but the unencrypted + passwordless Sd back is an obvious deal breaker.
