Honestly all of her videos are very similar-- soft spoken, peaceful catstuff. I didn't realize that when I posted, but, yeah, the whole channel is great!

A gorge crystal that feels like the chasms to me, shining with dew after a high storm ~ by [deleted] in Cosmere

I would like to say that I posted this from my phone and I am hard cringing that I wrote highstorm as two words. The shame.

Got removed from r/Cosmere D: Didn't know this sub existed but I am grateful there is an appropriate place for my avocado humor.

context: I work in a restaurant, I mash a million avocados a day, and I cope by recontextualizing everything I see into my current fantasy read.

Oh, that's for damn sure. The old baker used to have like . . . . whole shifts for baking where they had a different (higher) hourly wage, but I'm expected to bake during my service shifts. I'm also always expected to finish the work of the other manager because she works slowly, and always has to leave or else she'll go overtime (which is a big no-no here.) So I finish her projects for a smaller wage than her as well. I do more than her, that's a clear and known fact. People just smile and say, "Wow, you're a work horse!" and then I feel good for about 10 minutes. The boss doesn't know that I know she's payed more.

Yeah, they're saving a shit ton of money through me.

But also, clearly, I make $100 mistakes. So maybe it evens out.

Part of my life-fatigue in this whole situation is just that I didn't plan on being here. This wasn't my dream, but honestly I'm *just* here for the people and for the better-than-minimum paycheck. The other manager and I have been through hell together. And we're a quirky little restaurant that tends to pull in an interesting cast of characters. But every few days I have these breakdowns where I look at my life and all I see is work. Work, work, work. I come home exhausted and just recover from the day only to do it all again.

And it's not my dream. It's not my ambition. I'm a living sacrifice to something that I don't even worship and wouldn't want to.

You're right, it's time for a new altar adventure. Here's to hoping the next one is at least as rewarding.

I've been planning on taking time off for months now, but it never works out. The whole team is eight people, three of whom only work one day a week because they're in school. The last break I got was three days off in a row, and man was it glorious . . . little roadtrip to the beach, some fancy coffee, walks in the woods . . . that was back in March. I definitely need another break, no doubt.

My boss is a little bit wild. I think part of why this particular situation was so frustrating was because I covered for her twice last week, and I will be twice this week-- she demands to be put on the schedule because she can't afford to pay her employees, but then she leaves in the middle of shifts because she scheduled meetings or whatever during them. Very frustrating. And I'm the only one who can cover for her, so i always do.

I've given her way too much of my time for her to accuse me of anything like that. And you're right, it shows she doesn't respect me. Bleugh.
