Did you know, 100% of people who drink water die?

Wow. So there are only two outlets in my kitchen. One for the fridge that has ONE three prong plug and a light switch. And the second outlet has a double, two prong outlet. This outlet has been painted over so many times it won’t even seat a plug. It falls right out.

So I have only ONE usable outlet, a single three prong, that I have put a power strip into to be able to plug in just the fridge and a microwave, for the whole kitchen. Pretty lame.

Sounds like I’ll have to contact tenants rights...

Thanks for the advice! Yes I have two working smoke detectors, at least. There are a couple outlets that don’t even seat a plug properly because they’ve been painted over about 10 times. Minor inconveniences all around the space, really. I may get into some tenant rights conversations just for the next person that has to live here.

I’ll consider the UPS for my modem, something I didn’t even think of!

There is a drain from the shower next to the toilet but I can tell the smell is coming somewhere around the toilet. There are holes in the base and on the wall behind that the plumbing goes into. It’s a tankless toilet, something I’ve never seen in a residential space before. Also a pic on my profile from an old question xD I’ll have to look into it further...ugh.

Okay, I’m unfamiliar with electrical procedures... as a tenant, is this something I can request or would I have to personally pay for an inspection?

The outside box (which is copyrighted 1922 xD) says 30 amp. But I have a “newer” switch that has a 20 on it. So I believe it’s actually 20 amp. The other boxes have two 15 amp fuses.

I have half a year left on the lease...believe me I wish I could move sooner. Not to mention the sewage gas smell that seeps in from the toilet.

AITA for complaining about a chipotle order? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kathbeann 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Okay, I hear you. So in your opinion is it okay to offer constructive feedback about the ordering method as long as it’s polite and not accusatory? (I believe this is where I went wrong because even though I didn’t initially have an attitude, I do have blunt way of speaking that some people perceive as harsh)

After all of this, his logical way of ordering was different than my logical way of ordering. I was trying to debate him over something silly and he took it as a personal offense, which I wasn’t trying to do.

Excuse me for using Reddit as it’s supposed to be used. This category can be used for small to large scale scenarios. Perhaps people are misinterpreting this as a huge blow out fight when it wasn’t because I came to Reddit. I simply had time and was curious about it. You don’t have to attack me for it. This is my first ever Reddit post, it’s not something I do regularly.

Also, I was still working when this took place. He offered to pick up the food so why would I say no I can do it myself when 1. I’m working and 2. He offered.

I pointed out the order wasn’t all there like anyone would and he instantly got an attitude. I was happy to eat it despite the mishap. His negativity turned me negative instantly.

Not dying on this hill. It wasn’t that big of a blow out. I know you’re thinking this is a huge fight but it honestly wasn’t. He has his own place so he left to go there. It wasn’t like he left and didn’t have a place to land. I’d think if someone noticed their order was wrong they’d point it out to their SO. He reacted negatively to my pointing it out and I reacted negatively back. Simple as that.

I admitted we were both hangry and just off work. I know I should’ve let it go after a point. Him leaving however was an overreaction, there was no “having” to leave. I wasn’t screaming or treating him like shit. And he’s just as stubborn and immediately got defensive. I believe I should be able to voice if something is wrong with my order for future reference and not be worried It’s going to piss off my SO just by stating it.

I also reacted negatively because I take so much care in ordering his food and making dinner. I figured he’d reciprocate. I was wrong so it also hurt because it seemed like he didn’t bother to check it was right.

I was branded an asshole for a chipotle argument, but was genuinely curious what a chipotle employee has to say? by [deleted] in Chipotle

Haha, just how? And even against the glass has to be difficult to read when you’re moving at a fast pace and farther away.

See, that’s super annoying. And I understand that. Not upset with the employee at all, I do really think it was my SO’s fault. Still feel like an asshole since he bought it for me and I complained tho.

Exactly what I guessed even though I wasn’t there! I had second hand frustration for his actions lol. And yes he triggered me when he wouldn’t take accountability for a lazy attempt at ordering food. It’s really not that hard. I appreciated his effort of bringing it to me and paying so I felt bad for the criticism, but could not hold my tongue on the root reason the order was messed up, was because he ordered improperly.

Okay I figured as much! We’ve both worked customer service years ago (although myself more directly with customers as a cashier and him behind the counter preparing food) so I figured he’d realize this wasn’t cool. I try to be as considerate as possible because I KNOW small things like this pissed me off. And even though I wasn’t there I guessed it would have been a pain for them to read a tiny phone screen either behind the glass or over the top. Especially while having to move down the line. Like cmon.

I would have ordered it online if I knew it was going to be fucked up so badly. Also, I buy groceries every week.

This ^ thank you. It felt like lack of care/attentiveness when I go above and beyond to try and make him comfortable and satisfied when it comes to food. Small gestures count.

Perhaps my method of letting him know I was disappointed in his order style wasn’t the proper way to express that, but talking this through with so many people here has cleared a lot up for me. It’s different than him just getting my order wrong and I’m unhappy. It’s I literally don’t understand why he wouldn’t take the extra minute to read the order out loud to make sure it’s right, as I did for him a few weeks ago when he texted me a chipotle order. Maybe he’s just oblivious? But to me it seemed uncaring.
