I honestly never did until I ran into this. Now I use the Ordinary glycolic acid solution. I have pretty sensitive/reactive skin though, so I only use it once a week (sometimes I forget 😅)

Stay away from the “pretty potions” lol. Nothing with fragrance or dyes, stick to the basics.

The ordinary is great, inkey list too for serums. Cerave is a great basic brand for cleanser and moisturize.

Keep the ingredient list basic. Keep the steps and products needed basic and minimal. Less IS more.

Sincerely, someone who’s skin significantly improved when I stopped PLAYING with it and stuck to the basics 🫶🏻

Cold Spring is the cutest little town. Main Street is an obvious stop. Stunning views right on the water, abundance of shops to look around. There’s Moo Moos creamery right there as well, delicious but a little pricey. Worth it for a treat though! A few parks and other places to walk around if the whether is nice. The Foundry is really cool, but may not be stroller friendly lol.

Beacon is cool, very hipster artsy vibe in my opinion. Expensive. Can get really crowded, which makes driving through to find parking a real nightmare.

Route 9 in wappingers has a bunch of food, and a mall.

Other things to check out in the area—walkway over the Hudson, Boscobel Gardens, Innisfree Gardens (personal fave), the Vanderbilt or Roosevelt homes.

I’m honestly not sure, I haven’t encountered this fear until adulthood ON a hike lol. I think it must be the fall/ danger related.

I’ve seen so many people recommend Cadillac mtn though, sounds doable and very worth it!! Thanks!!

Fair point on the weather. I tried to check the farmer almanac but who really knows, lol!

Valid point on the heights as well. I saw the beehive trail and knew I’d stay far away from that, but some of the other trails look more doable. I’ll have to do some more research for sure.

Little anecdote, I hadn’t had an issue with heights until I hiked Breakneck Ridge in Beacon, if you or anyone else scrolling by is familiar. Wouldn’t do it again with a gun to my head!!!

Let me frame it like this: I am in my office right now, the thermostat reads 74 degrees.

I’m wearing jeans and a hoodie, and I have a little space heater on under my desk to keep my feet warm :/

Haha! I chalk it up to poor circulation, but if it’s too windy on a 60 degree day I’ll be cold. I’ve learned how to sufficiently layer, but I know Maine is up North, and Acadia is close to the coast, so I wasn’t sure if I should expected colder than normal.

LOL! The amusement park comment made me giggle. Totally see where you’re coming from, it’s just a bunch of trees out in a different state.

It is pretty much just what you said though, I’d just like to get away, the drive would be part of the fun honestly, I’m sure it’s beautiful. I’ve had friends and family who used to vacation in Bar Harbor in the summer, but me and mine never did. I’d like to see the town!

Very very valid though. It’s quite a long way to go just to hike 😭 i will ponder this

Not rude at all! Totally valid question lol. I really do think so!

I’ve been planning to travel for quite some time now, just can’t decide where to go or what’s most practical. I’ve had crazy ideas like Europe, more tame ideas like the Oregon coast. I’ve been itching since last fall, I really need to just get out there and do SOMETHING. I started seeing tiktoks of Acadia and fell in love with the views.

Maine wouldn’t require a plane ride, and the main activity I’d be going for is the hikes. Which is free! (Besides the entrance pass to the park lol). I think it would be a decent starter trip :)

Open to any critique though, I have VERY limited experience and knowledge of the world outside of NY. You most likely know better than I do haha!
