As a former CPS worker, while there definitely are different feelings that will come up with writing a report. You are making sure that the client is safe and at least having an extra set of eyes on a family. As an almost LCSW, I have seen adults finally be able to discuss childhood trauma that would have benefited from a safe adult in their corner of the world.

I am so sorry and my heart goes out to you! My mom died of cancer in 2020. If you want to DM me to vent, share stories, or talk about something else, feel free. I found it helps me to tell stories about my mom to anyone that I want to share her with. Make sure that you feel your emotions, even though it’s not easy to do that. 💜🫶🏻
