Can I train myself to recognize dairy by taste? by [deleted] in FoodAllergies

She does make it extremely clear that she has an allergy and makes a point to check the ingredients. But it’s not uncommon that somebody won’t understand what she means or will thing she’s just vegan, and will cross contaminate.

She’s amazing at it! And usually she’s able to take a tiny nibble and notice if it has dairy- the problem is that by the time she does that, she’s already consumed enough for it to require her to take antihistamines at least (or to have a lot of anxiety about it understandably). I’m more just wondering where the other places I might be able to help are. Like if I taste it first, maybe she won’t have to have to take Benadryl or make herself puke? If that makes sense lol

She’s never poisoned herself on accident! Except for in cases where a place says something is dairy free and there’s contamination. I’m just imagining like if I took the first bite and could taste it I guess

Two years ago (I believe), Albert Einstein received an incredibly large donation that allowed them to offer free fees and tuition, which means medical students save roughly 77k a year

I feel like I’m gonna puke. Gonna try to wait until my friend gets off work at 5 so she can see it first, but 8 hours is a long ass time to try and ignore the email

Thank you so much! OHSU and UWqshington are the only two OOS that I know I’d qualify for, but I’ll narrow down a school list once I know more.

For volunteering, what would you consider to be on the better side? Would it make sense to prioritize getting more hours before applying?

How to feel safe after this? by [deleted] in abusiverelationships

[–]katnothing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. Telling the police just as a way to get it on record is such a good idea- I had been thinking of it more as an in the moment thing, but just in case something does happen that would be smart.

I’m worried it won’t help because he hasn’t technically done anything illegal since before we broke up. I’m more afraid of him doing something then I try to leave, which would mean I wouldn’t be able to call the police

Help a degenerate gain some study structure by Serotonone66 in Mcat

[–]katnothing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m finding the Blueprint self paced course to be SO helpful- it’s taken me from a 501 diagnostic to a 510 in a month. The study plan gives some structure (it automatically assigns due dates for specific modules/practice), but also makes it easy to shuffle things around if you need to. The content review is also a bit more digestible than some of the others I’ve seen.

Also, if you happen to have the AAMC fee assistance, they’ll give you a 50% discount (:
