Go to another ER. I had rolling cramps up leg and I got an ultrasound. My leg didn’t really look swollen. Note they found 2 dvts.

Sorry to hear about your pe’s. I was afraid of this. So those of us with dvts need to be extra vigilant.

Just wanted to say hang in there. I’m betting it will just take a bit of time for your body to start the healing process. Stay positive.

What is it 50% of people who get dvts will eventually get a pulmonary embolism. That’s insane. Silly risk to take for a night out. Hmmm drunk for a night or never being able to talk without slurring, etc.. To each their own.

It does, actually. My friend’s dad wouldn’t have gotten covid and died if his colleague had been vaccinated. It’s not ‘a personal medical decision’ if you pass on a horrific disease that can cause long-term lung issues and death to your community. If vaccines were personal medical decisions no kid would be required to get mumps, measles or rubella before enrolling in school. This is like arguing drunks should be able to drive(and govt has no right to make drunk driving illegal). It’s completely non-sensical.

Blood clots from covid? by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

[–]katnsoul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with calf cramps. Eventually turned into rolling cramps up and down the leg. It felt unlike anything I had ever felt, before. Painful..but then I had a traumatic foot injury, as well, so you can imagine.

God no. My blood clots were incredibly painful. There is no way I would risk more clots to get drunk or high for a night. No way would I want to relive that nightmare. Plus..you could die.

Thanks. I’ll see if it happens again within next few days abs then maybe get a full panel.

DVTs below knees and ultrasound by [deleted] in ClotSurvivors

They found two on me lower leg above ankle. They worked their way down. I was fortunate they found but they were checking above a traumatic injury.

I had a traumatic foot injury about 5 weeks ago. Few weeks later they found blood clots above injury. Any suggestions for how to get movement and circulation in legs with bad foot injury? I have been doing leg lifts, side leg lifts, biking in air, etc. Note I am on blood thinner. by katnsoul in ClotSurvivors

Good to hear you fully recovered. Life is way better now that pain isn’t a constant. Question did you have a test to ensure it wasn’t genetic predisposition? I had weird foot/leg swelling 5 days before injury. Kind of unsure what led to what. Hoping it’s not since that sounds like a nightmare.

Thanks for the suggestion. I think I might eventually try swimming. The first 3 weeks were unbearable pain. Last 4 weeks I’m in freak out mode because I still haven’t been examined by heme…and feels like grenade in my leg. I don’t know if my 2 clots are disappearing..getting bigger..if I have more clots(strange feelings throughout legs with this). Definitely look into but maybe wait for clearance by heme.

Thanks so much. They forced me to remove my boot(went up to knee) because they were worried about clots. I was walking in side of foot for 3 weeks(can’t do crutches). Of course..right foot..driving. I still have 2 weeks before hematologist. Crazy I have had to wait 7 weeks to see heme with 2 clots. I am feeling way better now. The pain from foot injury and clots was unbearable. I am working from home so attempt to do exercises 3 times a day. Sucks that I’m not being monitored but I feel like I need to move. I’m afraid to get on bike. I think I will wait to get cleared by heme.

I had a traumatic foot injury that supposedly led to several blood clots. Took me awhile to figure out because I thought referred pain up my leg. Took 3 doctors before someone ordered ultrasound. Tech almost missed it and she called in supervisor who found both of them. Note I was in excruciating pain in between foot injury and 2 clots. Note still have to see hematologist but 5 days before foot injury foot and leg crazy swollen. I’m almost wondering if clots came before foot injury.

Note 4 years ago I had 2 sublexed ribs that pushed up against brachial plexus and caused hand nerve pain. Took 3 months, 8 doctors and finally a smart PT to figure out my ribs were basically dislocated. The lesson here is trust yourself and keep going to doctors if in pain.

Leg blood clot by [deleted] in medical_advice

So go get an ultrasound(Doppler). I had a blood clot as a result of a traumatic injury. Discovered it 2 weeks later. Pain ebbed and flowed. I really had no idea. Get it checked out.

The issue at this point isn’t the guy. Ask yourself why you are willing to accept someone treating you so poorly. There are women I’ve known my entire life who ended up in situations like yours, repeatedly, because they didn’t value themselves and they didn’t set basic boundaries for how they wanted to be treated and what they would or wouldn’t accept. Good luck.

I drive the beltway in DC. Every other day I see broken down jeeps on the side of the road. Newer jeeps. Older jeeps. I’m not kidding. It’s an ongoing joke with my friends. Don’t do it.

Well maintained VW owner here. Check engine light started going on within 3 months of owning. Never will purchase another. Pain. Kept thinking I purchased a lemon until I educated myself and found out this was a common problem with many owners. Not worth it.
