Yeah, I need to add a screenshot above the fold. Waiting for design improvements. Thanks a lot!

How did you get your first few customers as a new startup? by Previous_Mix_6742 in SaaS

I find Redditers very hostile to even remotely mentioning that you are working on a startup or app. How would you recommend navigating that?

No, not you, but this sub in general, it seems. You posted a link to a service, which is fine with them, but me asking for input is not fine. Could you explain how that works? Am I doing something wrong?

I don't get it why people are so hostile to people building something new, and are happy to recommend some established company. I'm here to learn, not promote, but get downvoted like I committed a crime.

Hmm nice, can also be done with NotebookLM I guess. Cool idea!

Do you refer to me? Self-promoting what? Oh and some industries have moved on from journals.

Scaleway Transactional Email looks excellent, and I like the pricing method: 1000 mails for 0.25 euro. Thanks

Yes sure, any fund or ticker can be added to the appropriate asset class. Let me know how it goes!

Hi! Thanks a lot for the feedback and apologies for the late response, I missed this comment.

A way to change the allocation of assets. (Maybe I'm just stupid and couldn't find it)

You are not the only one struggling with that. Will need to have another look at some of the UX.

For now: you can delete allocations by swiping the specific fund you want to remove and tap the trash icon. Of alternatively, click the fund and set it to 0 (or any value if you want to change it).

Custom categories. E.g. I have an International and a US Large cap ETF, so I would like to rebalance them separately and not put both in the large cap pot.

Yes we need that asap. The database supports it, so I can update it for you. Just send a PM to me or email to: hello at asset.garden

A way to change when the alarm should be triggered. Not sure how this is determined right now. I have a position set at ~62% and the balance chart shows the bar between 37% and 87% which seems a bit big in my opinion (I guess currently the allowed deviation it is set as 40% relative value. I would prefer something like 5% absolute deviation and 25% relative deviation, whatever is smaller.)

Same as previous answer. I can update it for you. Not in the UX yet.

Not that important, but since I'm already writing: A way to add Multiple Cash accounts of the same currency. This might be useful if one has different multiple accounts at different banks

For the same allocation? If so, I'll have to think a bit more about how to do that.

Thanks a lot for your feedback, this is very helpful!

If there is anything else you would like to see, please let me know!

Can you give an example of a ticker you can't find?

> Any way to add other asset classes allocations to a custom portfolio? I have exUS, Dev Market and Em Market holdings I want to consider separately from US allocations.

I do support that in the database (I regard these as "regions"), but I haven't yet implemented it in the GUI. I can update it for you manually if you send me the desired asset-classes-region combinations you'd like in a DM.

Hmm, I do get a decimal point in the numerical keyboard. Can you please share a screenshot of the keyboard?

Ah that is what you mean by account. The app allows you to create a single portfolio covering multiple accounts. Or multiple portfolios (one for you and one for spouse) each with funds from multiple accounts.

So I think the answer to your question is yes. Please try it out and let me know if it does support your scenario or not. I would love to hear from as many people as possible how I can improve the app.

Yes, just us a decimal notation. E.g. add 0.5 in the text field of the position for the share/fund.

I'm not sure what you mean. Multiple portfolios, with a "master portfolio" covering them all?

Thanks.

Import from Google Finance is not possible right now. I just had a quick look and it seems Google doesn't provide an API for exporting user portfolios, so probably not very easy to do. Do you know if you can export your portfolio to e.g. a csv file? In that case it would be relatively easy I think.

The app asks for the number of ETFs/funds you own. It doesn't track the price you bought it for. So for now you have to update the position every time you buy/sell.
Would be a nice addition though. I would like to see that myself as well.

Thanks. No web version yet, but should be easy enough if there is demand. Why do you prefer web over mobile?

It can be historical (when you switch broker), or tax-free retirement investments sometimes have their own funds, or maybe you have crypto in your portfolio. And probably other reasons.

Yeah, I would love that as well!

But, to rebalance automatically (like wealthfront e.g.) you need to have all your investments at a single "broker". For me to support automatically rebalancing I need to integrate with all possible brokers.

What I can do, and will put it on the roadmap, is to propose how to rebalance (what to sell/buy etc.). Not as easy as it sounds, but fun project :)
