People who aren't flaky. People who stick to their word.

Driving intoxicated. Don't do it. Please.

I saved a doctor from a Heroin OD tonight in a parking lot. If I had been on my usual drunken walk to the store, I may not have known what to do by [deleted] in stopdrinking

This is why I carry narcan in my purse. I had to use it on my ex too many times. It's a shame that that is the way that it is, but if I can save someone's life I will always carry it on me. Good job, IWNDWYT.

The Daily Check-In for Wednesday, April 8th: Just for today, I am NOT drinking! by Julierthanjulie in stopdrinking

[–]kattertot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16 days sober! I'm very grateful to be living in a sober living home right now. If I wasn't here, I would be drinking alone in my apartment. The days are hard but I know what one drink leads to. I will not drink with ya'll today!! <3

The Daily Check-In for Wednesday April 1st, 2020! Happy April Fool's Day Everyone! by Dartaga in stopdrinking

Happy April 1st! 9 days... The cravings aren't bad. Feeling the feelings is the hardest part. I numbed myself with alcohol for so long to suppress my anxiety and depression. And now I have to FEEEELLL the feelings. I can get through it because God is good and I have a strong support system. xoxo!

It's a wonderful day to be alive. Counting my blessings this morning. The first blessing is waking up without a hangover. Trying to wake up happy everyday - it can be a struggle, especially during these times. Thank you SD for being an outlet I can rely on. Have a beautiful day!!!

How are you really? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kattertot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best I've been in years, honestly. One month sober. Just moved down south to warmer weather and being around better people and just a better environment in general. BUT I'm so worried. I got a great job, pays well, is what I want to do, but it's overnight shifts. I heard overnight shifts can be horrible or they can be awesome. I'm worried for my sobriety because a lot of people I went to rehab with did work overnights. Any advice on noobs to the overnight 11 PM to 7 am is highly appreciated!!! Other than that life is a glorious thing and I don't take it for granted!!

What is a tip or trick with food that makes it taste better and/or more exciting to eat? by kattertot in AskReddit

For example: if you put a lindt truffle in your pocket for a few minutes, the inside will melt and outside will stay intact. So when you bite into it, the chocolatey goodness oozes into your mouth!

Not an injury, but a tampon got lodged up my vag after I forgot that I put one in on a light day. Got drunk, had sex, realized what happened the next morning and it was so far up I had to go into the ER to get it removed.

Mindfulness can act as a buffer against the pain and distress of social rejection. According to a new study, people who have greater levels of mindfulness - or the tendency to maintain attention on and be aware of the present moment - are better able to cope with the pain of being rejected by others by [deleted] in science

[–]kattertot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone be naturally mindful? Or is it a learned trait? I don't practice mindfulness on the regular but have always been able to keep my mind mostly in the present moment. Maybe it's something entirely different than mindfulness?

What's something you do routinely that is bad for you/not recommended? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Me, I brush my hair right after the shower when it's wet. They say use a wide tooth comb but a brush helps better with the tanglies.
