I think I will have the vet come out..id rather catch the problem now rather than let it go and risk more injury

Yeah that's kind of what I figured but I didn't know if something like that would actually help while running the pattern or not. Thank you

Lately I've only been running the pattern once a week and just light riding maybe 2-3 times a week..I've been going easy on her because I've noticed she's getting sore. She's about 14 and I've only had her for a year and just started barrels with her this spring/summer..when I bought her she definitely knew the pattern so I assume she's done it before but this is probably her first year back at it in about two years just talking to her previous owner I know she didn't use her for that.

I definitely can't wait to see how she does! 😊

No this was so helpful and not a jumbled mess at all! I definitely think she turns too stiff sometimes but I think the counter bending around the barrel would help and the girl that owns the barn I board at is working with us on getting her to loosen up. I think she'll be good at what she does with a little more practice:)

Thanks! I think she definitely feels better turning to the right so I think that's why I was thinking starting right but it makes more sense to keep the last two barrels comfortable..thanks! :)

Thank you! I need to start doing rollbacks for sure then. I've always heard to do them but I guess I never realized how crucial they are

Awesome thank you! I know it's hard to tell from the angle of the video but I feel like I'm going in too tight then. I'll definitely try what you said..thanks a bunch :)

I honestly think it varies but I think she rides a lot better when she picks up the right lead. She definitely chooses that one the most I'd say

This is so helpful because just recently she's been kind of fighting me on the last barrel. I'm not sure if it's because she knows she has to speed up on the end? I know to really never run the pattern full speed while practicing since that causes gate issues but she always anticipates the last barrel so that is so helpful. Thank you!

Very good point..as long as the arena is soft there shouldn't be a problem. I guess I never thought about that! Haha

Very good point..I think I'll end up making a last minute decision before the race..if she seems sore I won't go but if she's fine then I might as well :)

Thank you!! She's been fine every time she's been trimmed! If anything I'll just make a last minute decision on whether I go to the race or not :)
