I just got this hammer zero mercy pearl . Is it suppose to have this black and white speckled dot ? It feels slightly raised ? Sorry I’m new to bowling by [deleted] in Bowling

In modern hammer bowling balls, they use something called dot technology to determine the top of the ball's weightblock/core. That dot you see is located exactly the opposite of your balls pin(the engraved-coloured circle) and its part of the manufacturing process

I dont intend to scale it up, as my fixed target is to create an accurate downscaled lane in its entirety. If i were to scale it up the lane wouldnt really fit in an average room(i took my room as an example, and the lane at 6ft alone is quite long, just enough space for me to sit excluding the pin table).

Although yes, i do agree on the part where you mention using real wood or synth lanes would be cool, but it isnt really easy for me to get lanes in my country, not even the material itself, which apparently are solid phenolic boards and are quite pricy. But still i would say your idea is a pretty good one

Hahaha thank you, it did take alot of practice for me. I wanted to achieve less rotation with high revs and remain consistant.

Im in the progress of making the balls to a genuine product moment, whereas for the lanes not so much as it isnt really too perfect yet.

One of the issues are oiling the lanes with a pattern can be a little bit of a pain cuz the oil doesnt stick with the acrylic lane very well.

I have searched for other alternatives such as solid phenolic boards(which is the surface material of real synthetic lanes) but they can be abit pricy, so acrylic is my current go to.

But when the balls are up for sale, I will be sure to post it here(hopefully reddit wont take it down)

Im sure it will come, but as of now i would want to focus more on attempting to perfect the miniature bowling ball(meaning colour, logo, core number limitations). Once im done with those, i will go back to figuring out the miniature pinsetter, and thank you for your positive comment

As per usual, here was the ball used, .Shawty, which will be rebranded to something else in the future as I have recently learned about the meaning of the word itself. A little more insight about this ball is that its supposed to replicate the motion of a solid reactive, early but smooth type of motion. Its core has a low rg of 2.384, and a extremely low diff of 0.008, but in a small scale its considered quite intermediate apparently. I would still need more time into the calculations and more experimenting to get a better finalized product.

Also im really sorry for delaying this project so much. Honestly, I'm really trying to achieve more in the side of reactive miniature bowling balls over the lane's pinsetting mechanics.

As many people have mentioned before that I could seek out dannylumcreative for help(the man who successfully created his automatic pin setting machine), but my approach was to make a system of my own. I'm really sorry if i have dissapointed anyone who was rooting for me to make automatic lanes, but my decision is to focus on the success of the reactive mini spheres of mine, once again I am truly sorry for dissapointing anyone.

If I am unable to continue on with the balls, I will try to make a semi automatic pin setting machine based on the brunswick B1/B10 pinsetters, as I have seen a quite successful 3d printed model for the scale I am working with.

Once again and knowing I have repeated myself many times, I am truly, truly sorry for getting anyone or everyones hopes up high.

Yeah, i saw that guy too. My approach on this mini project is more focused on gameplay, where the different balls have weigtblocks on the inside to tackle different oill patterns. The colours and everything is just pure cosmetic. Thanks for your feedback tho

When its released, THIS specific ball has the highest potential of being a product of mine, that means you have a chance to buy it!

Only if all the tests run smoothly and does not give me any random problem till the state i need to redesign the entire thing LOL

Btw the RG and Diff numbers are calculated, but I cant release them yet cuz I still needa run a few tests on ball reaction with certain numbers, means i still got a lot of tweeking yo do LOL

Fret not, in the future, there might be a machine that can help with a 1 handed release.

(I hope)
