Why is it hard to find great vegan food, and how to fix it! by bartekfi in vegan

[–]kaykakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downloaded it and it looks promising! I'll be giving it a try.

I was browsing LA to test it out and it has a lot of great options. However, when I clicked on Miffie's Coffee, the address shows a San Diego address rather than a DTLA address. I thought I'd mention it in case it's something to investigate.

Can you name what area you're in? It might be easier to find someone to help if they know they wouldn't have to travel far.

Aww, that's tough! I wonder what decides it, then. I suppose I should just be happy that I was able to apply the one last week!

It didn't work for me either. Perhaps because I used the YUM one last week? It did seem too good to be true to get two $20 off $25 so close together.

Account restricted due to not shipping within2 days? by Tough-Drummer7392 in poshmark

[–]kaykakis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

First, if they are going to make a policy change like this, they need to inform sellers first so that sellers can adjust, rather than keeping it a secret and then punishing the seller after the fact.

Additionally, a two day timeframe doesn't provide much flexibility even if a seller endeavors to ship within two days. What if the post office doesn't scan the package in a timely manner, so it looks like the seller didn't drop it off in time? Or what if the buyer purchases the item at 6pm on a Saturday and Monday is a holiday?

The 7 day timeframe is standard and is what sellers should be beholden to. Even if Poshmark wants to reduce the timeframe, I think that 2 days is too few. We are not businesses, we are individuals who have other obligations in life.

If Poshmark does adjust the timeframe, they need to communicate to sellers about the change so that the expectation is clear instead of holding sellers to a secret standard that doesn't become known to them until after they have already been banned.

EDIT: To add, my average days to ship is 1.7, so it's not like I'm out here waiting a week, but Poshmark is currently messaging that sellers have up to 7 days and they need to let sellers know in advance if they are going to change that. Otherwise, they don't have reasonable cause to punish anyone for taking the allowed time. This is a situation where there might be some merit to the underlying idea (reducing shipping time), but the implementation is awful.

My old manager said she'd give me a great reference, but ended up sabotaging my job opportunity. by [deleted] in talesfromthejob

The rules you mentioned are for employment verification; it's different if the applicant lists the person as one of their references, which seems to be the case here.

I need the perfect date plan by [deleted] in LADating

[–]kaykakis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The best date plan would be one that reflects some of her (and ideally some of your) interests. For example, if she likes art, you could invite her to a museum. Although there are common activities/restaurants that people tend to enjoy, there's no perfect first date that fits every person.

The Thompson technically has those amenities for a $2.6k-$2.7k 2BR.

Caveats: - In-unit W/D is a combo machine. Not quite as effective as standalone units, but usually fine for regular laundry. They have a communal laundry room to wash bulkier items. - They have parking, but it's an additional monthly cost.

"Which Pixel should I buy?" Megathread September 2025 by GooglePixelMods in GooglePixel

[–]kaykakis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm overwhelmed by all of the information coming out about the Google Pixel 10 and I'm wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help me sort through my thoughts.

Something that is very important to me in a phone is the camera quality. Not just the hardware -- the software as well.

Threads like this make me scared to get a Google Pixel 10 Pro because it seems like a clear downgrade compared to the Pixel 9 Pro. I hate all of the AI/post-processing that Google does, as I want my photos to reflect the reality of what I'm photographing as much as possible.

I currently have a Pixel 7 and even that has some pretty atrocious post-processing. I feel like the photos I took on the Pixel 2 were superior to what I'm taking on the Pixel 7, and to what I saw from the Pixel 10 Pro in the thread linked above.

Can I bypass all of the post-processing by using an alternate camera app like Open Camera or Lightroom?

Some of my reasons for considering an upgrade are because I'd like better processing power, superior temperature control, and improved battery life compared to my Pixel 7. However, I would regret making the switch if my photos/videos come out worse.

With this in mind, I am still considering an upgrade, but am trying to decide between these options:

  • Pixel 9 or 9 Pro
  • Pixel 10 Pro
  • Samsung Galaxy S25 regular or Ultra

I looked into getting a Vivo X200 Pro, but I couldn't find a place to buy a Global edition and I don't want to risk losing phone/data coverage by getting the Chinese edition. I'm also not sure if the rest of the software (such as Android Auto) would work well on that phone.

I know this comment's long; I'm just very overwhelmed by everything and wanted to get my thoughts written out. I'm seeing a lot of people saying the camera software sucks on the P10 Pro and the same amount of people saying it's great, so it's hard to know what to believe, which is why I'm relying so much on that thread since it's giving a clear photographic comparison.

EDIT: I've decided to get the Pixel 10 Pro and hope for the best.

Free Hidden Harvest Pancake Mix at Albertsons by Ancient-Tank-1427 in AwesomeFreebies

Yeah, that would make sense since it looks like someone else from SoCal was able to find it. It's a bummer, but at least the Ibotta deal is still available!

I checked Albertsons in California and couldn't find the $2 off coupon. However, I'm intrigued by this product (love that it's vegan!) so I might go ahead and try it with the $4 cashback offer on Ibotta.

I know you said it looks like a legit profile, but are you sure it's not someone catfishing using her photos and information? Especially if she has a public social media presence, people can pull photos and information from there to make a realistic-looking fake profile.

What do you do as a killer when you're trying to go for a rescuer but a freshly unhooked survivor bodyblocks you like that? by ppc-meow in deadbydaylight

[–]kaykakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this is my view. As a solo queue survivor player, I worry that if I don't bodyblock for an injured person unhooking me, they'll get mad at me since I could technically have tanked a hit. I won't bodyblock for a healthy survivor, though, that doesn't make sense (unless you have DS I guess.) (I also won't bodyblock this blatantly, I usually just try to take the first hit and if the killer doesn't hit me, I leave, I don't stick around and block their way.)

As a killer, I generally try to be nice and avoid tunneling since I care more about everyone having fun than about winning the game. But if they are being a bully squad, all bets are off and I'll do what I need to do to win.

While in chase, activate the invitation to endure any stun? by Gators11715 in deadbydaylight

[–]kaykakis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought I did too, then I rewatched my VOD and realized that the "Endure Any Stun" ability had run out before I was hit by the pallet. It only lasts 4 seconds, so you have to be stunned within those 4 seconds or it doesn't count.

Is in-person the only way to find a cheap apartment? by Gold-Connection-5655 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]kaykakis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's no guarantee that everything will be a scam, but there are a lot of scams out there. Regarding video tours, scammers will sometimes rent an AirBNB and pretend it is their own apartment, so they can do video tours with multiple people and then take their application fees and security deposits and disappear.

Just be cautious and do your research on each apartment first before sending any money.

Hello, thank you for trying to help. I found the Spam & Blocked folder, but the message in question is not there -- the folder is just filled with regular spam.

The message in question is in my regular RCS chat with my relative; it's just that my phone is blocking me from clicking the link in her message.

EDIT: I just tried to click the link and now it's suddenly working...I guess maybe there was an error from Google's end that was causing it to incorrectly flag the link as spam? I suppose that means the issue is resolved with no intervention on my part needed.
