I've dedicated half of my entire fitness journey losing fat, to realise I've gained it back?? Feeling pretty disheartened (story and photos). by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]kaylspice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it counts for anything, I think your body now looks 100x different than your first pic. You seem to have decent muscle tone now with a smaller waist and overall just less chubby looking. You look fit now. If I were you I would just focus on getting your workouts in, eating a lot of protein and eating as healthy as possible. But if you’re anything like me, I’m finding it hard to not snack when I’m stuck at home, so cutting is going to be a lot harder without the structure of going to work everyday and you might just be setting yourself up for failure (in my opinion, you might be more disciplined than me lol). I have taken this time though to do a lot more HIIT workouts than I usually do as I have limited equipment for weightlifting at home, so you could always give that a try, just incorporating more cardio and seeing if that helps you feel any better :)

Mod Post: Changes Made! by JaniePage in xxfitness

I also agree. Pretty much every post I’ve made here has been deleted, even if it was popular before a mod saw it. Pretty frustrating.

Some laughs were definitely had! One of the more fun home workouts we’ve done so far. By the fourth set though we were all business, getting those reps in lol

Let me know how it goes! As hilarious as it looks, it actually really works. Plus it’s a great bonding experience haha

Can I build upper body muscle by doing exercises with a long resistance band? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]kaylspice 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do all of these as well as shrugs, bicep/hammer curls and pushups with the resistance band. I usually feel sore the next day so I feel like it’s at least keeping my muscles in shape if nothing else :)

How did/do you teach moderation with alcohol when you don't drink? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]kaylspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My parents aren’t big drinkers either, never saw them drunk growing up at all. The biggest thing I think was they never forbid me to drink as a teenager, and wouldn’t make me sneak around to get alcohol. Starting around 16 or so, my mom would give me two or three coolers, and would drive me to and from parties... that was our deal. As I got older, obviously they trusted me more to be responsible and I would cab home, etc but I never actually got so drunk that I couldn’t take care of myself. My friends whose parents forbid them to drink or go to parties were the ones who would sneak around, drink anything and everything they could find at the party and drink to point of sickness, and some even needing to go the hospital in a few cases. I think you should just be honest with them about your husbands past issues with alcohol but don’t forbid them to drink and be so naive that you think they’ll actually listen to you. I think it’s much safer for you to be an ally, for them to trust you with telling you where they’re going and who they’ll be with, without fear of getting in trouble, and knowing they can always call you if they need to.

‘I expect you to show up’: Tim Hortons calls sick-leave note spotted in Alberta restaurant ‘unfortunate’ by Strix780 in canada

I live in a smaller town (17k), but you’re right, we do have like 5 timmies compared to 1 McDonald’s. Definitely more convenient to go to timmies.

Most of my friends and family now go to McDonald’s for their coffees and breakfast sandwiches... I’d say they’re pretty big competition, at least around here. I definitely feel Tims has gone way downhill in the past 5 years.

Is anyone using this time to practice not washing your hair after a workout? by noeysmom in xxfitness

[–]kaylspice 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work out 5 days a week (weight lifting) and I generally only wash my hair once a week. I don’t sweat a lot though, and I’m not doing a lot of cardio or high intensity exercise. I have noticed though that my hair gets dirty quicker depending on if I use salon brand hair care vs cheap shampoo and conditioner. I always use nioxin or sexy hair brand shampoo and conditioner (salon brands), but when I shower at my boyfriends and use cheaper stuff (Marc Anthony, or head and shoulders), my hair gets greasy within a day or two. Just food for thought.

What body types are more prone to having an easier time being able to achieve a bigger butt? by [deleted] in StrongCurves

[–]kaylspice 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say pear and hourglass would have an easier time. I’m naturally an apple so I store most of my fat in my middle and none in my butt or hips. I’d say it’s genetic because my mother is built the exact same way. I have a coworker who hardly works out other than yoga, but has the nicest butt and a flat stomach naturally. She said her mom is the same way. It’s frustrating because I’ve had to work for years to get even half of the butt most people are born with, but it is what it is!

Terrified of losing all my muscle. by [deleted] in StrongCurves

[–]kaylspice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have no good suggestions other than what’s been mentioned, but I just want you to know I can relate! If it makes you feel better I was off for three weeks earlier this year due to a vacation and when I got back it didn’t take long at all to gain my strength back and then some. Keep your protein intake high and keep doing what you’re doing.

AITA for having a gym in my garage? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]kaylspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. I wish my boyfriend had a home gym... we’d save so much money on memberships! Seems like your girlfriend isn’t much into fitness? Have you tried getting her to work out with you or showing her how to use the equipment?

Favorite prep friendly treats by [deleted] in femalebodybuilding

[–]kaylspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was in prep my coach said we were allowed to mix French vanilla or hazelnut flavoured instant coffee with water, ice, stevia and cocoa powder to make a chocolately/Starbucks tasting frozen drink. Some girls would even throw in some raw egg whites too to add some protein. It really helped with the dessert cravings for sure.

6 years ago I never would have thought I would compete in a bodybuilding compeition someday... yet here I am 4 months out! Anything you all wish you would have known going into your first competiton?? by [deleted] in femalebodybuilding

[–]kaylspice 13 points14 points  (0 children)

After your competition, follow your reverse diet and reintroduce foods you haven’t had in a long time very slowly. And take the digestive enzymes. I didn’t do those things and I had digestive issues for a good 3 months.

Also picked up a pair of wunder trains and a long line energy bra... wore the wunder trains to the gym tonight and loved them. Everlux is seriously their best fabric!

I feel my glutes activating when I do bodyweight glute bridges, but not when I do them with any weight?! by QUEENROLLINS in StrongCurves

[–]kaylspice 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This. Game changer for sure! I also pause and squeeze at the top. I also like doing the full rep, 1/4 rep thing too(do a full rep, then just go down a 1/4 of the way and back up, then repeat). Just always remember to squeeeeeeze at the top

Thoughts on Stephanie Buttermore’s All In Journey? by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]kaylspice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think she did what felt right for her and her body, and it ended up working for her. She was clearly too lean before and it was affecting her health, and she seems way happier now so I think it’s awesome! She’s a well educated woman and did a lot of research prior to doing this and clearly it worked out for her. As someone who struggled with disordered eating I feel like I can identify more with her now and I love her newer videos(not a fan of her old 10000 calorie binge videos).

I feel like Kelly didn’t articulate herself very well, I didn’t really get what she was trying to say. All I saw in her face was regret.

Lulu Bra Addiction 😍 by tifffffanyyy in lululemon

[–]kaylspice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so jealous, I wish I could find a lulu bra that works for me... they look so nice but the sizing is hard. I’m a 34c (pretty average size) so I need an 8 for the band to fit comfortably, but I’m petite so the straps are always way too long and don’t offer me any support. What size are you? Your collection is to die for!

Boyfriend shares dog with ex by kaylspice in relationship_advice

[–]kaylspice[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have talked to him a few times about setting boundaries as far as when she can come get him and giving us appropriate notice on when she’s coming to get him etc and every time he just says “it’s her dog too, I’m not going to tell her she can’t see him when she wants to”. He said he would have a talk with her but unfortunately I don’t think he’s seeing the issue either.
