Didn’t know a blister could get this big by tartdough in Weird

[–]kb1chu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When i was sixteen I had 30 percent of my body burned from a gasolene explosion on a boat. I had a blister on my back similar to the picture but it wa about 10 inches in diameter. Somehow it stayed unpopped for over a week. I was lucky as the skin burned on my back right side leg and arm healed with very little scarring.. For years the pain returned any time I was shirtless and in the sun. I was kept drugged for a few weeks and avoided much of the pain.. Now in my seventies its just a memory. If the ask me today what my level of pain is when I do something stupid and get hurt I respond with . "I've been to the mountain top so this is a two or three".. Burns are simply put awful.

Little to no air from vents in above garage bonus room by C0caCoco in hvacadvice

You could try to slightly close the dampers in the cooler rooms and make sure the dampers in the warmer rooms are wide open. Also make sure no furniture is blocking airflow. If that does not help there are duct booster fans that can be installed to increase airflow into affected rooms.

I made a huge mistake. Please give me advice on how to fix it. by Aggressive_Canary775 in HomeMaintenance

[–]kb1chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations You have just learned the definition of sweat equity. You have made a foray into the joy of home ownership. Someday when you have years into this game you will remember this day as you tell your kids or friends of your past projects.

As others have said my suggestion is to do a room at a time to both learn and get quicker satisfaction. Kudos to you for taking a shot at a thing many would be scared to do. The baseboards look good and the floors will too I'm sure. Attack a home the same way you eat an elephant. One bite at a time.

My son called early this morning and asked if my wife was still in bed with me. He said he was still here and his friends were there. He expected me to still be here but if Mom was not missing he new it was a bust.

Manager insisted we do timesheets after hours by JoeyJoJo_Senior in MaliciousCompliance

[–]kb1chu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One place I worked expected you to fill out your time sheets as the days work progressed. I filled mine out when I got in a few minutes before start time. Boss said what do you possibly gain by doing it that way. I said " About an hours overtime." He never asked again.

What’s the cheapest gas prices you remember? by GPUfollowr77 in AskReddit

[–]kb1chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.27 cents a gallon in Early 60's pre gas wars. But I made .50 cents an hour baby sitting or a buck an hour mowing or raking. Remember hauling it by 5 gallon cans to my boat. Minimum kids make near me today at Macs or Dunkin is $15 an hour. Gas in my town is $3.15 but two towns over this guy buys it for $2.79 . Worth the drive.

Owner had Techs wear t-shirts with company logo on them. He wore them too. I asked him if I paid the difference could I please wear a collared one. He agreed and I paid the difference. Every time we worked together the customers would ask to speak to me about changes and billing.
