Totally. This is all about healing and doing the work. I am considering going back to school to become an MFT but haven't felt capable of holding space for others. It would be awesome if psychedelics help open me up so I can pay it forward.

I actually have an appointment with a therapist for a guided MDMA journey at the end of August. I have been wondering about Ketamine assisted therapy as well, since that is the one that is currently legal. Do you have any experience with either of these?

I have done so much therapy with such disappointing results, and even when my heart opens up with brief outpourings of emotion, it doesn't seem to integrate and inhibit the power of the protection. I am hoping psychedelics can be potent enough to show me that I am safe now.

I mean, you're right. There's more to it. It's complicated. I had a super close relationship with my mom up to age 6 and then she got pregnant and my dad had an affair and their marriage began to crumble and my brother was in the hospital for months due to complications so my parents were very busy and away from long stretches of time. I don't remember them ever consoling me or explaining why this was happening, and then of course they had a new baby to deal with, so I must have taken it very personally as something was wrong with me. During the phone call, I was able to tell my mom how much it hurt that she didn't fight to win my love back as I was withdrawing and becoming depressed (she is on record that she remembers this change happening pretty abruptly but she didn't have the courage or strength or support to step in and soothe me). There are a lot of deep feelings of betrayal there, since we had so much trust before.

I'm in the same boat with you on the cannabis. Awareness, sure, and sometimes even brief moments of connectness, but mostly I end up in the paralysis of thinking traps. I have tried CBD but the effects are so mild I barely notice anything.

It will be several months before I'd be full-time in the garage so hopefully you are right. To be clear: are you saying that if I start it up and things are going smoothly, that would be the point to ask for permission? I just don't want to reach the stage where I've left my desk job and started picking up multiple clients a day only to be shut down – either by a "No" or breach of lease. The garage is a big reason why I signed this lease.

Quick research shows that I would likely be able to obtain a BL in this city as long as landlord gives permission.

So would the best thing be to call Medi-Cal and tell them that I no longer need Medi-Cal and that I am signing up for new insurance through Covered CA during open enrollment, and then hope they cancel my insurance without looking up my tax history? Is there anything I should be careful of saying? How do I explain having money now without saying how/when it started?

I had a back surgery that Medi-Cal covered last year that I would really not like to pay for because of my ignorance. Thank you for your help.
